My father has passed away this December 7th early in the morning.
For a lot of reasons I am left in a precarious position.
I willlikely not be around much.
I may be back someday, I don't know, my own health is pretty rough lately. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

Sorry to hear this. I was in a similar position myself a few years ago.
Take time, gather yourself, and best of luck with your health. _________________ "The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't." |

Sorry to hear about this. I am sorry the situation is the way it is. Hopefully, things will become better in short order. I think we all have a time where this type of thing happens. I know I did as well. Best wishes mate. _________________ Don Diestler

This is the first time I have been here in a long time - I just wanted to see if everyone is still here, if the D6 rolls on, and how everyone is handling the current state of the world. I am happy to see the site still here - many fond memories here though I haven't played in 13 years now. I am still dealing with a lot of fallout from the events that started this thread, but will try to pop in every few weeks.
One of the biggest questions I had was how everyone felt about White wolf's acquisition of the D6 license? I will say it kind of broke my heart (I do not like White Wolf and I will leave it at that).
I know I should ask more poignant questions given the state of the world, but I am trying to escape the world in the past glories of gaming. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

It's good to see you. I'm glad that you're popping in.
It's funny because I had entirely forgotten about the White Wolf component of the purchase. And really, it's been easy to forget about Nocturnal media since they haven't really done anything with West End Games that I'm aware of. Most of the properties were chopped up and sold piecemeal. The only D6 we've seen in recent years has been Zorro. Which I backed, got the PDF, and haven't even read. _________________ __________________________________

I was also very sad to learn earlier this year Daniel Scott Palter, founder of WEG, passed away. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

I'm in a similar boat, and speculation about the SWU as viewed through the lens of the D6 game has long been my own escape, also. We all need somewhere to go to get away from life's troubles, so don't ever feel like you have to apologize for what you enjoy, or for what you may be avoiding while you're doing it. This is where you need to be; there will be time for the real world later. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Indeed.

I've had almost no experience with White Wolf/Stewart Wieck, so at the time I had no feelings about the acquisition of WEG/D6 by Nocturnal Media one one way or the other, except for being hopeful that D6 would make a big comeback, because Eric Gibson wasn't doing much for WEG when he owned it and D6 going OGL (OpenD6) did not have the impact I hoped for either.
Like cheshire said, Nocturnal Media has done almost nothing with WEG/D6 except allow FFG to make the WEG Star Wars RPG anniversary set and license D6 out to Gallant Knight Games to produce a Zorro RPG. Now, I'm thoroughly disappointed with Nocturnal Media. D6 Online is a ghost town. There are a several burning embers for D6 remaining throughout the world, but Rancor Pit is bearing one of the biggest torches for the D6 system. We'll keep the fires burning as long as I have something to do with it. _________________ *
