Over on the FFG x-wing mini's forums, we are discussing some of the "Epic" ships for the game, specifically the CRC-90 corellian corvette, and whether, like the Imperial's Gozanti class Carrier-cruiser, it should be able to carry some fighters.
Now in the novels (WRAITH SQUADRON), it was seen as 'revolutionary/outside of the box to retrofit that forward compartment of it's head', to act as a fighter bay to hold 8 x-wings. Yet in the SW rebels cartoon, (as shown in screen-caps), supposedly the rebellion has long did that, more for holding A-wings..

I see it as being revolutionary and outside the box thinking for Imperials.
Revolutionary and outside the box thinking is par for the course for the Alliance. |

But neither tactic was used BY the imperials. Both were examples of wht the rebels did. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Considering the relative dimensions of the two fighters, the TIEs are much "taller" than an A-Wing. Perhaps the ingenuity was in that they managed to fit TIE fighters into a ship despite the lack of vertical clearance. With an A-Wing, you could fit two or three in on top of eachother in the space it would take to hold just one TIE. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
