So I currently have one of my groups on what is essentially "Planet World War I", similar to how Solo showed the Imperial Army fighting though things.
And I remembered this little number showing up. Figuring it is basically a walker version of a self-propelled artillery piece.
I'm thinking just a pared down AT-TE from the REUP book, and an upgraded projectile cannon, or a variety of shells available for it (anti-infantry, anti-vehicle, anti-air, so on. Like how the infamous "German 88" was used.).
But figured I'd get your ideas on things.

Here are the stats I created for the forthcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story sourcebook.
ALL TERRAIN DEFENSE TURRET (AT-DT)
Bipedal walker used by the Galactic Empire. It is a slow walker due to the size of its main cannon, which fires a massive shot that explodes on impact. While firing, it is rendered immobilized. It is vulnerable to anti-vehicle weapons as a result of its light armor. It also possesses a front armor plate with artillery flashback shielding.
AT-DT

Passengers: None
Cargo Capacity: 200 kilograms
Cover: 3/4 (front), 1/2 (side), 1/4 (rear)
Cost: Not available for sale
Maneuverability: 1D
Move: 20; 55 kmh
Body Strength: 4D

Auto-Laser Artillery Launcher (50 shells)
--- Fire Arc: Front

Nice.. Though with the recoil, i wonder how being on chicken legs would be stable.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Its Star Wars buddy, there doesn't need to be a real world explanation, but if you really need one, "The AT-DT uses a state-of-the-art repulsorlift system in the leg joints. This alleviates structural and actuator stress, as well as helps the the entire walker absorb the massive recoil of the AT-DT's auto-projector launcher. " _________________ Don Diestler

It's main cannon should also fire regular blaster bolts, right? _________________ Don’t Let the Rules Get in the Way of a Good Story. |

There is sparse information about this vehicle, but what information I have been able to find about its ammo is, laser artillery. So I would assume its not a physical piece of artillery in the traditional sense, but is a type of laser that is held in a field that explodes on impact or a type of hybrid artillery-laser ammo. Its up to interpretation. In the end, the effect is it fires a projectile over medium and long distances that explodes on impact. Furthermore, from its size, layout and single operator for all tasks, it does not appear to have physical ammo (no breech or expelled ammo), which leads me to believe its neither a hybrid nor uses physical ammo.
Hope that helps. _________________ Don Diestler

And here I was thinking it was similar to a Bowcaster, where it has an energy sheath around the shell... And I think I saw a typical quick-loading breech for just a moment in the vid.
Shootingwamprats, I look forward to that book! |

Just looking at the photo, there are 5 "barrels" on the front of that machine. The big one is probably the cannon and at least one is probably a ranging laser or optic. My vote for that is the short barrel on top of the cannon.
Of the three beneath the cannon, the two on the bottom look like secondary point defense weapons to me, maybe autoblasters, or dual lasers.
Lastly, the anti-personnel blast radius looks awfully small. The damage/radius numbers listed look like those character-scale grenades so I'm thinking a massive cannon can do a bit better. To that end, Google tells me the typical kill radius for a 105mm shell is 30 meters.
I like the rest! _________________ Aha! |

Based on a PAC88, that top 'barrel' as you call it, is actually part of it's recoil mechanism, same with the two larger ones below..

But, yeah, I'm going to say the item on top is the long-range sight which is why it gets better medium and long range capabilities but short range is still pretty much "Iron Sights".
I'll also likely combine the two statblocks later on to make up for it, and have the Walker have to "kneel" in order to be stable enough to fire. But it can go from "walk" to "kneel" quite quickly in order to "shoot and scoot" like a self-propelled gun is supposed to. |
