Ok, so we've had 2 threads in the past, discussing what happens when a pilot has to eject in spaec.
But what about when in atmosphere??
Modern fighters, have a parachute attached to the seat the pilot sits in, explosive bolts that kicks them out far from the plane as it blows up..
And in TFA, we saw something similar happen to FN-2187, when he ejected from the Spec force tie.
BUT in no other instance in any of the films have we ever seen any sort of ejection from a ship winged, or going boom.
So was that a specific trait for the SF ties? Or are similar devices on all fighters?
Do they use old school parachutes? Repulsor technology?? Or a combo? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Combo. Repulsorlift as a primary, with paraglider (Rules of Engagement, pages 51-53) as backup. It's also likely the seat will have a built-in acceleration compensator to protect the pilot from the g-forces of ejection, which can be pretty brutal on the pilot. The seat should also have a survival kit of some sort built into it. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
