The write-ups for mynocks (found at the d6 holocron, and in the SE Trilogy Sourcebook) show that they drain energy, but no specifics are given.
If a mynock lands on a droid, I'm wondering how long it should take to drain it of power. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

For an NPC droid I'd probably go with something like 2D rounds as garhkal suggests but for a PC droid I'd probably set a difficulty like 10-15 on a stamina/strength check and for every five points they fail the check by I'd give them a +1D penalty to all actions.
That way it seems like the PC has more interaction with what is happening to them. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

At what point would they become inert? When their dex hits -0d? Str hits 0d? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

It's interesting that this was never specificied when they made mynocks (say, for the SE book).
I just guesstimated, as the mynocks were driven off in about two turns. I had both droids (since both were attacked) mostly drained. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Either, if they still had dice in knowledges I'd let them continue to talk but once dex or strength hits zero they're immobile. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

I would like to know if Mynocks are like say leeches, or mosquito.. in that they take a certain amount of 'energy' to be full, or do they just eat and eat? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Make them like Tribbles. The more they eat, the faster they reproduce. _________________ RR

I believe they reproduce asexually as soon as they have enough energy to do so meaning that an infestation can quickly get out of hand.
Although When they were spotted on the Falcon they hadn't multiplied at quite the same rate as tribbles so perhaps they can not absorb energy at a terrifying rate but they can do so constantly.
With Wiki entry is somewhat vague about reproduction rates but it does mention they absorb matter as well as energy so a prolonged feeding could result in actual damage. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

The adventure "Rebel Breakout" in the 1st Edition Rulebook contains some guidance as to how to handle mynock attacks, and how quickly they drain power (see 1st Ed pg. 102 - note that "Deo" is an R2 unit):
"Roll to determine the success of the Mynocks' attack, following the hand-to-hand combat rules on page 49. The attack difficulty number is 5. If a Mynock attaches its suction-cup mouth to either Deo or a blaster, the Mynock quickly drains half the engergy. This leaves Deo weak and confused, and a blaster more prone to running out of ammo. If the Mynocks stay attached another two rounds, both blaster and Droid are powerless." |

Did it list what roll is needed for the Mynock to stay attached? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

No, it didn't list anything more. And half is sort of vague. Not to mention that two (more) rounds is like an eternity.
Sort of strange, that a single action could take half (of the target's energy), but then it takes two more full rounds to do the second half (I suppose that's for the sake of drama). _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

I think a droid would have more power to drain than a blaster. Perhaps two rounds for a blaster and three or four rounds for a droid? _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

Would/should that not depend on the droid? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Yeah, in one game I've played for about three decades - a supers RPG called Villains & Vigilantes - each character has a Power score, which represents how much bio-energy a person has (it also provides a cushion other than Hit Points to prevent death, plus it gives a score that one can use to "roll with a punch"). D6 doesn't really have an attribute for this, so it's a little tougher for something like this. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |
