Do you prefer your villains in the movies to be Space Opera Outlandish, like Darth Maul, General Grevious, or Darth Vader?
Or, do you prefer the more normal looking foes, like Palpatine, Count Dooku, or Kylo Ren? |

I chose the Mix, but I really lean to the more outlandish types. |

Senator and Chancellor Palpatine, like in my avatar, are normal looking Palpatines. But I would not consider Emperor Palpatine to be normal looking at all. If that's normal looking to you, then I'd really hate to see your nightmares!

Muscle should be outlandish, Leader should be normal. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

A mix for me too. IMO its ok to have the occasional foe be the comically outlandish "mustache twirling' villian, but to make ALL that way, is just way to campy for my liking. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I think there's a difference between visually outlandish and having an outlandish personality (although you can obviously do both in one character, as in Grievous).
I don't mind a bit of outlandishness here or there, but I think you need grounded villains, too, to sell the threat. If it gets too grim and gritty, though, it ends up feeling kinda boring. |
