axed?

That's the headline, which is pure sensationalism. Star Wars has not been "ruined".

A minority of vocal detractors vs. the second highest grossing Star Wars film of all time is not a "death spiral" and this is not a "broken" franchise. The franchise is still making plenty of money.
It goes on to Solo's "failure" when Solo has made over $100 million over its budget, except the budget reported on other heavily sensationalized websites that bash the film. Solo only "failed" to make giant piles of profit for Disney like the last three film did.

The "journalism" is horrible here. The article goes on to reveal a misogynistic bias in its author. The article quote the source, someone who says they were told this by "insiders":There was a call, a secret conference call with all the top Star Wars brass in attendance, the kind of call where, apparently, security guards stand outside the different conference room doors and makes sure that no one eavesdrops... Top brass at not only Star Wars, but also Marvel and Pixar, were also in on the call, but listening only... But how could anyone learn what happened in this meeting? This "secret" call also had the top brass of Marvel and Pixar on it but they were only listening in? I'm incredulous.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kennedy wants out. Star Wars fandom has become so toxic. I watched an interview with her a while back where she made a cryptic statement about health, so it may not even be related to running the franchise (but could be if it is stressed related). I'm pretty sure she can't be fired without a huge payout. When Lucas announced she was going to be his successor at running Lucasfilm, the deal with Disney was already in the works but wasn't public yet. Lucas was picking his successor and I'm sure that it was a part of the deal that Disney can't just replace her because why else would Lucas have bothered picking his successor right before handing Lucasfilm over to Disney? And if there was a time limit on her protection and we are at the end of it, then it would have nothing to do with fan-hate over TLJ and Solo not grossing as much as Rogue One.
Whether Kathleen Kennedy is leaving or not, this "article" is bantha poodu. _________________ *
