I wish my fellow American members a faithful Loyalty Day. Also, as I missed posting it on the twenty-fifth, a happy ANZAC Day to our Australian and New Zealand members.
(Loyalty Day, April 30th, is an official holiday established in the middle of the Cold War. [The local daily paper mentioned it in a small article some years ago; I was steamed that the paper wrote about it on the first of May, after the fact.] For those unacquainted with it, ANZAC stands for Australia-New Zealand Army Corps, and its day of observance is the anniversary of the Gallipoli landings in the Great War, as I recall. Ask the Diggers and Kiwis for the rest; you should get an earful [and not in a bad way]. I know some of what they would tell you, but its their heritage for celebrating.) _________________ "Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." (Ecclesiastes 12:13b)

"I wish you a faithful Loyalty Day. I, for one, want to be the first to express our loyalty to our new alien overlords. I'm bigly in favor of loyalty. If you don't have any loyalty, then you suck." _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Just repurchased the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flight sim games. I forgot how much I missed them. |

It is indeed. Needless to say, it is not much observed now, or I wouldn't be introducing it. However, the article said that it was marked with parades and similar ceremonies when it was more widely known and observed. _________________ "Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
