So, I was listening to Weapon of the Jedi, and Luke spends a few days training Lightsaber (and probably Lightsaber Combat) with some training remotes. Curious, I looked up what Han's remote from the Falcon looked like in d6, and started wondering...
If you work with something like that, does that count as "training for a skill" (thus requiring training time), or "Use allowing you to spend CPs" (thus removing the need for training time)? The remote doesn't have any actual training skills... it's just a target that will shoot at you. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

There is a small section on training with Remotes in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim on page 74, it describes it as a form of Force training.
While there is no specific rules covering training with Remotes, I personally think it would be fine to treat it as Lightsaber skill training up to say 3D or something for a beginner
Mainly though, I just see them as tool for a master to use to train a student
