Occasionally, I run into trouble trying to post images on the Pit. There are also instances where older posts where image links have expired. It'd be nice to alleviate that problem, perhaps by moving the image storage in-house. How hard would it be for the Pit to set up its own image hosting? I'm completely clueless as to the procedures and logistics involved, so feel free to educate me. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. That would be actually be a Loc Taal question. _________________ __________________________________

Has this been looked into yet? I have some images I'd like to post directly from my computer. |

Imgur can be a fair interim solution, up until such time that there's image hosting in the Pit. |

I have PM'd him on this topic, but no response. Does anyone have a reliable means of contacting him and can ping him on this issue? |

I've had the same issue. The post shows up with the link and the IMG brackets. So, I just delete the image. |

PM is really the only way to get a hold of him. I honestly have no idea how to get in touch outside the boards. _________________ __________________________________

I think the problem is mainly with .png files, which seems to be a newer type of image file. It's probably more advanced than the board's bb coding will allow. Upgrades may be available at a cost, and since the owner is paying for the Pit and giving it to us for free, I can't really bring myself to complain. Of course it never hurts to ask politely. In the meantime you may need to use your preferred image editor to convert your images to .jpg to get them to work here. _________________ *
