Is there any official rules for slicing? Any useful house rules that you've developed? _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

I picked this up YEARS ago off the the SWRPGNetwork. I haven't looked at it in over a decade, so decide for yourself what you think it's worth.

Before we take any of this too seriously, just remember that in the middle episode a little rubber puppet moves a spaceship with his mind. |

Very good resource. It brings a lot of the info about computer programming /repair into one place. I think the difficulty numbers are a little high for some things. Bear in mind that 4D is professional skill level. That's a roll of 12-16.
I like his idea that Slicing is the offensive specialization and Systems Administration is the defensive specialization. I would make a third specialization of coding/programming. Slicing gets you in. SysAdm keeps you out. Coding is writing the programs you want to affect the computer system. Your call as a GM.
Of course those are software specializations. There should be at least one hardware specialization. Maybe Computer Repair.
Lastly, I have always liked the skill bonuses a computer can give you. |

Using a Spike would also be a good specialization. |
