How many of you, have had pcs go to certain planets, where they don't use "imperial" or "Republic credits", just their OWN local currency, thus the characters have had to change money over?
What of when they are on planet A (where they get only imp credits), then shift over to planet Z, that uses primary republic credits (or rebellion script or what ever)?
Do you bother tracking how much is how much? How much they trade over? Do they bother haggling over the exchange rate??? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Sure I have had currency exchange. I don't remember but I may have recorded the exchange rate in case it came up again in future adventure. Not that it would have to be the same rate later because they can fluctuate.
No, the exchange rate itself can't be haggled over if they are just exchanging currencies through a bank or something. If they are just buying or selling something from a private seller or buyer, it would be pointless to haggle over something involving a currency the buyer can't pay anyway. I would not allow a separate bargaining over an exchange rate if one of the currencies involved is not any part of the transaction. The final foreign currency price of the item is part of the haggling for the item itself. The parties can take or leave the results of the bargain rolls. _________________ *
