Don't know how true it is or not, but I was checking out things over on Wookieepedia and there was a thing in the edit section of the WEG page where someone mentioned that someone involved in the X-wing Sourcebook project had actually discovered that the material wasn't entirely lost as had been thought. Apparently this guy found out last fall that the disk needs a little tinkering with, but they can get out like 75-85% of the info from it. So they decided their going to publish the sourcebook after all, but under WotC now since they've got the liscence. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Hummm, I don't know, seems extremely fishy. I don't see how WOTC could possibly publish a book made by WEG employees, working under WEG. Plus, unless I'm missing something, WOTC doesn't care about it's RPG line, and wouldn't publish such a specific book.
Oh, but wouldn't it be sweet if such material was to fall on our eager hands... _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Yes, brother Gry, it WOULD be sweet indeed...
But I do agree about, um, Imperial Entanglements arising from WotC trying to publish WEG material.
In fact, with as stupid as I've heard WotC has been about copyright infringement, I'd even be just about willing to lay down credits that 'concerned citizens' might be willing to pass such information on to concerned sources, just to try and give them a taste of their own medicine.
But that's just the ramblings of an old hermit out in the desert... |

Well for those of you who did figure it out, yes this was an attempt at an April Fools joke. And for those who actually went over and checked, or at least believed it, bet you wish you hadn't been fooled. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Yeah, I noticed the date before I noticed anything. I saw April 1, and thought, "well... if this is an announcement, I can count on it not being true." Sorry, after NPR got me first thing in the morning, I was on guard for the rest of the day.
Sweet idea, though. |
