|

So yeah, I'm continuing my editing work on Treefrog's Legacy of the Force fanbook, and I've got a minor problem. There is a stock YV-666 named the Duracrud in this storyline, but I'm having trouble tracking down the D6 and D20 stats for a stock YV-666. Apparently, they're NOT in the Gry Sarth Starships book(s); only the Hound's Tooth (Bossk's modified YV-666) is in there.
So when I tried to find stats for the Duracrud and couldn't, I basically yelled "CRUD!"...only I used a different four-letter word. Several times. In quick succession. While banging my head against my keyboard.
I still can't feel my face.
Does anyone have any idea if the published stock stats (both D6 and D20) for the YV-666 even exist?
And this just occurred to me: should I check the Corellian Engineering Corporation fanbook?
EDIT: Apparently the answer to my own question is: Yes. And they're Oliver Queen stats, which is more than sufficient to hang my hat on.
Ah well, at least I had fun making this post. 8)
EDIT 2: D'OH! Now I have to find the D20 stats for them!
CRUD!
EDIT 3: ok, here are the D6 stats:

Capsule: Another design brought to life by Corellian engineers, the YV666 is considerably larger than its smaller and cheaper counterparts. The ship sports a long, tall, blocky main hull with port and starboard maneuvering fins to the rear of the craft for vertical movement. A decent all-around ship, the YV666 manages to retain the legendary ease of modification usually prevalent in smaller freighters. As with most of the YV series, the YV666 is built around a two deck main hull. The top deck houses the ridge and navigation systems, while the bottom deck is devoted to ngines, power cores, weapons systems and storage bays. The main deck, arguably the major selling point of the ship, is capable of housing both vehicles and fighters. The holds are large enough that one trader claimed he found it could fit a personal residence with room to spare for his speeder. As such, many pirates use the YV666 as escort carriers on supply raids. Nevertheless, the ship's light armament puts it at something of a disadvantage when faced with better armed customized merchant frigates. Overall, the YV666 features a simple but admirably effective propulsion system, providing considerable maneuverability, as well as decent hyperspace and sub light speeds despite its size. |
But isn't a 20 ton cargo bay too small for what the capsule says is room enough for a personal residence plus a speeder? _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Especially since the Barloz Medium frieghter from the same general era and manufacturer also in the 40 meter length range has a 120 ton cargo capacity. Even assuming the barloz gets a bigger cargo bay for being a "medium" freighter I would think the YV-666 should be rated for one third to half that.
Although if I recall the YV line of freighters was an overall failure for Correllian Engineering so this might just be chalked up to a badly thought out design. |

Is this the ship your talking about?
I think this one belonged to the bounty hunter Bossk and was named the Hound's Tooth. It was modified to carry a scoutship.

Also if the wookipedia is to be believed the YV-666 is 62m in length |

A 40 meter freighter being designated as a "medium freighter" and only having 120 ton cargo capacity? Yeah, I'm wondering about that "medium freighter" thingie myself.
And Forbin, yes, that looks like the diagram of the Hound's Tooth from Star Wars Essential Vehicles and Ships, which is a highly modified YV-666.
One of my main problems with Oliver Queens YV-666 stats was the cost of 480,000 credits. I think that cost is the estimated cost of the Hound's Tooth after all its modifications, not a stock YV-666 light freighter. After all, most light freighters have a stock price around 100k or so. Why would the YV-666 be almost 5 times as expensive as any other comparable light freighter? It's not a luxury yacht AFAIK; that's the only way I could justify such a high cost. Even comparable luxury yachts don't break 250k, so why would a stock light freighter go for almost twice that?
Don't make no sense to me.
More later. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

According to the EU fluff the Barloz design predates Ep IV by decades and in that time starship technologies have increased the capabilities of freighters |

Ahoy! Per the FFG "No Disintegrations" book, the price of a stock YV-666 is 132,000 credits.
And with the YT-1300 having an FFG encumbrance of 165 vs. its WEG capacity of 100,
an approx cargo cap conversion for the YV-666 is 120 metric tons.
For conversion? See FFG's stock YV-666 below:
Hull Type/Model: Light Fréighter/YV-666.
Manufacturer: Corellian Engineering Corporation.
Hyperdrive: Primary: Class 3, Backup: Class 14
Navicomputer: Yes.
Sensor Range: Short.
Ship’s Complement: One pilot, one co-pilot
Encumbrance Capacity: 200.
Passenger Capacity: 6.
Consumables: Three months.
Price/Rarity: 132,000 credits/6.
Customization Hard Points: 6.
Silhouette: 4, Speed: 3, Handling: -2
Armor: 3, HT threshold: 30, SS threshold: 12
Weapons:
Dorsal retractable quad laser turret
(Fire Arc All Dorsal; Damage 5; Critical 3; Range [Close];
Accurate 1, Linked 3)
Forward mounted light laser cannons
(Fire Arc Forward; Damage 5; Critical 5; Range [Close];
Linked 1). |

Damn, I've been so busy the past couple of days editing the LotF book, I forgot about this.
If buying the YV-666 new costs 132,000 credits, I'm wondering about the Used Cost of a YV-666. I'm wondering about converting the stock weapons to D6 stats as well. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

W00t! The revised stats are looking good, ShootingWomprats.
Minor edit suggestions: the starwars.com Databank and wookieepedia
give the 666 the dimensions of 47.4 meters (L), 36.9 meters (W) and 15.5 meters (H). |
