Name of Planet: Mammet
Other Names: This planet was unknown until Aulatian probes discovered it unknown years ago. They named it after one of their gods. The Tokamac Development Group (TDG) had plans to rename it after it was terraformed.

Population: Unknown; likely under 300, though before it was abandoned, there were generally between 20,000 and 30,000 workers from the TDC. If the planet had been completed, it would have been equipped to handle up to three billion residents.

History and/or Further Explanations:
Mammet, the second planet in the Agon system, has been known to the Aulat (the closest spacefaring civilization) for thousands of years. It began its existence as a lifeless rock at the outer edge of the star Agon’s habitable zone. As the Aulat slowly expanded their efforts at colonization, planets such as Mammet and the other planets in the Agon system started to be treated and traded as property. As the result of this, ownership of Mammet passed from family to family or from company to company for the better part of two millennia, until most recently it was leased to the Tokamac Development Group by the family that owns it. This TDG was a consortium of interplanetary construction and design companies which, after surveying Mammet, identified it as a prime candidate for terraforming—and eventually, a colossal source of income. After deciding to proceed with the operation, the TDG brought in gigantic terraforming units; planetary-scale construction equipment such as automated landscapers, substrate processors, aquascaping machinery, and architectural supercomputers; with these came enormous laboratory complexes; genetic engineering facilities; a prefabricated spaceport; and the housing, suppliers and importers required to keep 20,000 bioid workers in relative comfort.
At the time of this writing, (9 BBY), Mammet is assumed abandoned by anyone except the occasional droid and the plants and animals that the consortium imported and then left there. This is because about 70% of the way through construction, the TDG was dissolved because war broke out between four of the sovereign states within the TDG. These constituents one-by-one withdrew both their funding and support, and almost overnight, the swiftly-transforming planet was abandoned. Now it is a deceptively beautiful place which supports populations of some of the most dangerous animals in the galaxy, not least among these being the vornskr, the Kuati gilded viper, the acklay, and the Sando aqua monster. These are just a small fraction of the life forms brought to Mammet by the TDG, and even though most of them turned out to be innocuous, enough of them turned out to be dangerous and uncontrollable enough that the small team of ecologists and zoologists employed by the TDG could not handle them. A theory written by a former TDG ecologist exists that asserts that the star Agon releases significantly more ionizing radiation than most other stars of its class, which in theory would be a catalyst for mutation and might help explain the exceptionally uncontrollable nature of the planet’s introduced fauna.
It helps to describe Mammet as it is now by detailing what it might have looked like once the TDG had completed its work and finished their great ambition. After the terraforming would have been complete, Mammet would have been a planet of unprecedented beauty. Each of its dozens upon dozens of unique ecosystems were being designed to feature flora and fauna appropriate to each of them, and all of those species were being collected specifically for this purpose from other planets the galaxy over. In a sense, the planet itself may have turned out as its own form of artwork. It would have been a place of warm, shallow seas and very few dangers, with amiable wildlife and miles upon miles of tropical coastline. Even now, none of the planet’s land masses are more than 40 degrees from its equator, and even though it is technically not complete, it is still a stunningly beautiful place which has unfortunately been overrun by certain wildlife. It features jungles, plains, savannahs, forests, tropical beaches, extensive archipelagos, temperate and tropical rainforests, and large swaths of easily-accessible coral reefs and atolls.
Something worth noting about Mammet is that there is a large asteroid belt between it and CBT-2442, and many of the asteroids there can be said to have somewhat eccentric orbits, even for asteroids. Before the dissolution of the TDG, planetside astronomers monitored asteroid telemetry and vigilantly swept the skies for any interlopers which might eventually strike Mammet. Destruction via asteroid impact is less speculative on Mammet than it is simply an eventuality. However, planets Reorx and Kauma play a large roll in ejecting wayward bodies (rogue asteroids, comets, etc.) completely out of the Ago system. Before it commenced with terraforming, the TDG deployed a network of satellites around Mammet which were designed to either destroy or divert incoming bodies of nearly any size, although the system was never tested and is now considered defunct. This ever-present danger prompted the TDG to form a committee on how to convince potential residents that Mammet was not inherently more or less dangerous than any other planet in the galaxy.
The business plan of the TDG was to have a large resort on the planet where beings could come for temporary relaxation. A second option for newcomers would have consisted not of renting but of buying residences either on the planet surface or in arcologies (only two of which were ever completed), or purchasing specific pieces of land of virtually any size or shape, anywhere on the planet. The land’s owners would have been free to buy or sell such properties at their leisure. In this sense, once the planet would have opened for business, it would have been first come, first serve.
The luxuries that were to be offered on the planet would have been the finest in the galaxy, and would have been available to one and all via its planned fleet of 60% droid helpers and 40% bioid staff. As Aulat never proffered any kind of law or constitution to the inhabitants of Mammet (other than an 8% share in any capital gains—another defunct agreement between the Aulat and the TDG), many things not otherwise available in the galaxy in abundance were planned to be found on Mammet. For example, Ayorn Wine from Nethidice has been illegal in large portions of the galaxy for centuries. However, it would have been served at certain bars or clubs on the planet, though it likely would have been accordingly expensive.
As TDG’s plans for Mammet progressed, huge container ships from all over the galaxy arrived almost daily to unload their cargoes of machines, building supplies, and raw materials. Some of the largest container ships arrived filled only with water from Mon Calamari, or huge loads of various mixes containing bacteria or fungus and some other growing medium, as required by the giant terraforming towers to operate.
Mammet is also orbited by three breathtaking planetary rings, each several hundred kilometers wide. They are (from inner to outer) gray, teal, and green in color. They are already one of the planet’s most attractive attributes, as they are visible from anywhere on the planet for several hours each day and the colors of the rings are a combination not occurring elsewhere in the known Galaxy.
Some of the beacon satellites left in orbit by the TDG were reprogrammed when the company pulled out to warn all approaching ships that the Mammet is now a wild place which should be given full consideration by anyone thinking of landing on it.
