I was wondering if apart from telekinesis and just the normal thrown weapon skill if someone has made or converted the throw lightsaber ability?
I am not to big a fan of how using telekinesis gives you a darkside point for
using it with a weapon for the purpose of lightsaber throw. |

Yup. This is what I used in my all-Jedi campaign last year:
Lightsaber Throw:
Control + Alter power.
Prerequisite: must have at least 6D or greater in Lightsaber Combat skill to learn this power.
A Jedi can use the Force to throw an ignited lightsaber out to attack at range, and have the saber return to him safely.
Control difficulty affected by range (distance) of the throw. Difficulty is 5, plus 5 per 10m Area of Effect (ie. minimum 10 for a 10m range, 15 for a 20m range, 20 for a 30m range, etc).
Alter difficulty is based on the number of targets to be struck within that area of effect: 10 per target.
Rolling the two Force skills can not be split into two rounds, must be both rolled simultaneously at -1d MAP. Damage delivered is at the base lightsaber damage plus as many pips as the Jedi has Ds in Control skill (unaffected by MAP). |

The RAW for the force are more like guidelines nowadays than actual rules: since the prequels have opened up new interpretations of what "knowledge and defense; never for attack" means, we can probably do away with the "use of this power to attack awards a dark side point" verbiage.
I would submit that the RAW are effectively outdated, honestly. |

The KOTOR games, and subsequent stuff, had this weird dichotomy... "It is the DARK SIDE to throw Force Lightning at people, but it's perfectly cool to pick someone up and beat them with a starship."
Electrokinesis = Bad
Telekinesis = Good. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

Which is why i follow the philosophy of "any use of the force to Directly cause damage to someone is of the dark side." _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Not intended to hijack the thread, but that can't be absolutely right (even simply using the 'outdated' RAW) because if it were, a Jedi using Lightsaber Combat to fight off a dark sider is then guilty of using the dark side...yet they earn no DSP for it. |

Yoda also renders the RAW obsolete in RotS, as do others in the clone wars series and other story arcs. Obi-Wan's defeat of Dirge comes to mind, for example. |

Lightsaber throw is more an FX of both Telekinesis and Lightsaber. Notice I did not say Lightsaber Combat. I have allowed this in my games before and I use a Telekinesis roll to move the lightsaber where it is wanted, but they have to make a Lightsaber skill roll as well. Depending on the scene I might even allow the two things to happen as a single action. _________________ Don Diestler
