Did West End [or even Wizards of the Coast] ever do an 'explore underwater ruins story?'
I've got a planet that's become famous for underwater ruins and the PCs have been wanting to visit since the heard about it.
So now I'm looking around for some frame work or list of complications that will keep them from deciding this much hyped planet is not a disappointment. My stories all tend to feel like "Babylon 5" so I'm rubbish at dungeon crawls, but I think that's what this story needs.
I was thinking they will have to race an Imperial Inquisitor to a several thousand year old sunken Jedi Temple and there will be something cool in there [maybe some pre-Rusan Reformation teaching materials?]
I've got a pretty much complete collection of Star Wars WEG stuff [and most of the WotC stuff too]. I don't recall seeing any such adventure idea but there's so much there I might have missed something. It doesn't have to fit what I outlined above just be a general 'explore sunken ruin' story.
Any pointers would much appreciated. _________________ - J.T. Swift

If you wanted a surprise complication you could have a crew of Quarren pirates going after the same treasure as the heroes, or maybe they're just using the ruins as a base and when the players show up the Quarren realize they've been sitting on untold loot all this time... Either way they'd be at an advantage against the PC's what with their amphibious nature. |

That's a pretty good idea. Don't forget the Seatroopers and AT-AT swimmers while you're at it (both seen in Battle for the Golden Sun adventure). _________________ Aha! |

You can also add in sea creatures like those from Phantom Menace, that might have gotten mutated somewhat by some Sith curse that got placed on the Ruins.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Thanks a bunch guys! That's exactly what I was looking for. "The Spira Regatta" should be perfect! Might even add some Quarren smugglers. _________________ - J.T. Swift

You must have Adventure Journal #1, but I thought I would mention for the record (anyone else reading this thread) that this adventure was also reprinted in The Best of the Star Wars Adventure Journal, Issues 1-4. _________________ *

There is a part of the adventure "Secrets of the Sissar Run" that occurs underwater. Part 2, Sedri Intrigue, takes place in an underwater cave system, and has a few rules for underwater combat. |

If you are ok with mashing other games into your star wars, there is a dungeons and dragons sourcebook called PC3 The Sea People it is from a series of books called Creature Crucible.
It contains
8 different aquatic races
a complete political and economic overview of the region
a large color poster hex map of the area
10 or more complete adventures
spells which could be used as a variant of the force
and a ton more.
This book has inspired me for dozens of ideas for my gaming group and would make a great framework for a low tech aquatic world |

Lol, to get to the underground grotto with the lake that had a sunken temple in it you have to pass through a Sith temple. |
