So my players got the chance to explore Korriban and I didn't want to limit this to just combat encounters so I took a page from KOTOR and had a puzzle key.
I took the sith code and had it posted prominently in the base they were exploring.
Quote: |
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me. |
Later presented them with a room they got sealed in with the following lock:
a 2x10 grid with a round button below it.
The following symbols:
2 x Flag (easy Knowledge roll or tactics roll to identify it as a victory flag)
2 x Blaster
2 x broken chain
2 x hand holding a sphere (Closer examination reveals its a planet)
2 x gundark
2 x a Sith standing alone in a field
2 x 6 legged lizard
2 x head of a Cerean
2 x a peace symbol
2 x heart
The puzzle is solved with the following solution
Peace Symbol | Heart
Hearth | Gundark
Gundark | Hand w/sphere
Hand w/sphere | Flag
Flag | Broken Chain
The real puzzle though was the last button-- which had to be activated with the Force, not triggered manually.
Took the players about 20 minutes to sort it out, maybe a bit more but one of my players I did have to give a hint to the end (they had it all right except the final trigger) . Because no combination gave a confirmation positive or negative, I didn't feel it warranted an actual trap (other than the room running out of air) since a non-force user would never be able to get through the door.
I was proud of it, little frustrated that one of the players declared at the outset, his hatred of puzzles. _________________ http://swfallingstar.podbean.com

Did they know the 'sith' code before hand, or did you have someone need to make a sith lore roll? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
