I noticed that some ships stats have sensors in scan mode that don't even include the range of the turbolasters!
I believe a Dreadnaught does this where the scan sensor range is 50 and the TurboLaser range is 75. Does this mean the turbolaser operator won't know what he is shooting at unless the sensor operator does a scan in "search mode" at 100 units??? _________________ "That was left handed!" |

Because West End Games, that's why. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

I think it was more cause they were trying to show that even in SW, they often use sensor data from OTHER sources besides their own, to give their long range weapons targetting data. Much like our cruisers use satellite and AWAC planes info. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

On a related note, since I've split Capital Ship into two scale categories: Capital Ship at +10D and Dreadnought at +14D, I'm thinking of shortening the ranges for Capital Ship-Scale weaponry (keeping the existing Capital-Scale ranges for Dreadnought-Scale weapons). What would be some good range brackets for middle-range weapons (i.e. between Starfighter and Dreadnought scale)? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
