This is one I copied from the Star Wars Design Alliance before they crashed. I've cleaned up the stats a little, plus added some fluff. To me, this is a Star Wars equivalent of the UH-1 Huey, and I added some fluff at the capsule to reflect the UH-1's use in air mobile units during the Vietnam War. I think that could be an exciting variation on a SpecForce campaign.

The Koensayr CK7-12 Cicada Light Assault Shuttle was developed during the Clone Wars as a compact assault ship, able to deliver a squad of soldiers to a planet's surface or to the hull of an enemy ship for boarding actions. Although it is technically a light shuttle, it shares many of the same systems as Koensayr's Y-Wing Starfighter, and as such, its crews have affectionately dubbed it the C-Wing, even though -Wing designations are generally reserved for starfighters. After the war, the Cicada was phased out of Imperial service. However, the Cicada remains in service with system defense forces and local militias, as well as the Rebel Alliance.

The Cicada remains popular for a variety of reasons. It is durable and well armed, and also fast enough to accompany starfighter strikes. In addition, its relatively small size means that it occupies roughly the same deck space as a starfighter aboard a capital ship. As an added bonus, the Cicada can be modified for different missions with relative ease, and multiple variants have entered service, including scouts, gunboats, VIP transports, medevac shuttles and even stretched heavy-lift variants. The Alliance has used this versatility to field several units of Air Cavalry, combined arms units of Cicadas and elite infantry to perform lightning fast hit-and-fade raids against Imperial targets.
