Capsule: Tibidee were a type of creature native to Stygeon Prime, though they could also be found on other mountainous outer rim planets. The creatures were able to fly through a combination of their giant wings and internal gasbags. They had green eyes and long tails, and could detect different frequencies.
They had green eyes and long tails, and could detect different frequencies. This led a group of tibidee to think that the jamming frequency of the Phantom, an attack shuttle, was a mating call. The creatures, though normally gentle, would attack anything they felt was threatening, including stormtroopers. They were remotely related to neebrays and mynocks, both also pest to starships.

1. Updated the capsule information to be more complete. _________________ Don Diestler

I have a question, the whole detect frequencies thing, is that like Echolocation with bats or were they just attracted to comm frequencies? Could that be considered a special ability somehow? _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

I hasd thought about that but is echolocation really worth noting outside of flavor text? Does it deserve or need a Special Ability special mechanic? After watching and thinking about it, this seems more of speed of plot thing where they are attracted to the Phantams sensor masking signal. I also think the Tibidee helping attack the Imperials was also a speed of plot moment not requiring a mechanic.
Something to consider when designing things is does something require a special mechanic, flavor text or speed of plot. Its a real balancing act. Unfortunately not everyone will agree. Keep the suggestions and criticisms coming! _________________ Don Diestler

Oh no, I wasn't suggesting that it should be a special ability, but rather asking if it was something that might require that in the write-up. I remember the episode in question, but not the creatures all that well... _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |
