In a surprise move, Hasbro has relinquished all rights to the Star Wars roleplaying game property to one-time owner West End Games.
"It's been dead for nine months now and it just wasn't making money," an official spokesperson for Hasbro said in regards to the Star Wars roleplaying game line, "we've rearranged a lot of staff in our Wizards of the Coast division. This is just one piece in an overall reorganization. From now on, the roleplaying division will be working exclusively on D&D Online and a new line of collectible battle pogs, which we believe will be the next big thing in gaming."
West End Games, which bought the property back for an undisclosed amount had this to say, "Well, we're happy of course. Star Wars has returned to its rightful place and the D6 system is ready for it. We plan on bringing out a full new line revision starting immediately after Episode III is released. Look out, it's going to be great. The game's getting some brand new authors, including roleplaying industry luminary John Tynes and the Star Wars author Mathew Woodring Stover. We're raring to go!"

Well, at least he put April Fools at the bottom of the post, albeit in a small, faded font. |
