|

Hi! I just picked up Star Wars D6 R&E. I did play 1ed, the Swedish version, back in the 90s and have been game mastering the D20 and Saga -versions the last couple of years. The D20 frustration got the better of me and now I'm back to basic so to speak.
I downloaded some fan made GM screens but did not like all the elements in them. This is when I decided to make my own. I have some tables down, but as I have not GMd R&E I'm not sure what I'll eventually need on my screen. Any suggestions? |

The musts:
damage chart (character and vehicle)
scale
difficulty table
scatter diagram
natural healing table
I'll have to think about other things that would be necessary.
However, if you're really thinking about doing this, you're going to want to make sure you're not just reproducing what's already out there. High quality, fan made, legally downloadable would be big features. I think that an expectation of high quality makes things difficult around here. Gry Sarth has done some really nice looking projects which has sort of raised the bar for fan products. _________________ __________________________________

Suggestions for a R&E screen:
-Weapon stats, at least for the common weapons would be nice. Especially the ranges for blasters, and range bands for grenades
-Combining difficulty
-Lifting difficulty
-Movement difficulties and vehicle maneuver difficulties.
-Healing table for medpacs.
-Table with some common items and price
-Crash Damage Table
-Falling Damage Table
-Vehicle Repair Tables |

The first part of the screen is almost done. In this part the character (scale) is in focus. I did not include lifting. I'll see if I can make some space for that later. Truth is I simply forgot.
If you got the time, please have a look and let me know if I got something wrong.

I plan of making it a 3 x A4 folded screen.
I found some screens but they were rather poor in quality. I don't really care of the aesthetics that much, but most of them were filled with home brew and rules from 1 & 2nd ed. Could someone link to a already existing screen / sheet? |

That looks very nicely done! I don't have a GM screen so I could probably use the final pdf some day.
I might be mistaken, but don't GM screens usually use the landscape format instead of portrait? (I'm pretty sure at least the Savage Worlds and the Shadowrun 2E GM screens are.) _________________ The Enteague Sector | Cracken's Collection of Crackpots

The few screens I use are all standing A4 (portrait) so I guess I'm just used to it.
A friend of mine works with printing operations and stuff like that, so I'll have him print a 3 x A4 standing, folding screen in laminated cardboard with some cool star wars motive on the back. I'll then put plastic sleeves on the inside where I can easily slide in the information I need. Great for easy updates.
Btw. If anyone feel they need it, I can make the original .indd files available for all my sheets and screens. I don't mind you using and changing what you want in/with them. Just let me know and I'll upload them. I'm using CS4 might be worth mentioning. |

I got that one. It's a great, well made sheet but as I'm currently running a Old Republic campaign I don't really have that much use for it. It will come in handy in the future, I'm sure.
I'm flattered that you added mine. I'll let you know when its done so you can get the finished deal. |

There's something that someone had done with a d20 screen that looked so darn impressive that I downloaded and kept it, I'm not sure if it would serve as any sort of inspiration for a finished product or not What they did is did double sided printing, and then laminated and spiral bound the two side sections to the main section. It wound up looking really impressive.
I'll include a copy of the file. The last page shows an assembled screen.
BTW, they layout for your stuff is really nice. I like it a lot more than I have the other fan sheets. This is looking like the quality the fans can really appreciate around here.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I'm finding lots of broken links. Does anyone have this GM screen that can relink it or send it to me? |

Wow, yeah, talk about a blast from the past.
I've been traveling, so I don't have access to my personal stash of digital goodies. Though if you follow the link in my signature, you should find some GM screens in my 4shared account.
I keep moving those over to Google Drive, but I just haven't done it yet. _________________ __________________________________

Thanks a bunch! I was looking to replace the screen I have been using with one less cluttered and easier to read, and this one looks like it fits the bill.
