I usually make a squib orbital yard. In the orbit of one of the outlying planets in a system, I have a squib merchant set up a junkyard around a gravity generator. Lots of room, doesn't affect the ecosystem, and lots of fun to rp out.

That's cool. You wouldn't even need an artificial gravity generator if you just used an inhabitable moon for the orbital junkyard. For that matter, you could just use the surface of the inhabitable moon for the junkyard too. Most planets and moons in the galaxy are not habitable, so there would be plenty of places in a galaxy to have a junkyard that would not affect any biospheres.

The planet in the Elrood Sector is Korad (GG-3 page 18). There is also an adventure book that I think is named "Operation Elrood" where part of the adventure takes place on Korad.

My players built a base and farm on the planet Korad in the Elrood Sector. I sent the droids from the Droid Rebellion featured in the Dark Horse Comics, "Droids" series to the planet and they have slowly been reviving their dead/deactivated brethren.

I also created and ran a scenario based on the novel "Rats of NIMH" on Korad where a bunch of feral man-sized rodent-like creatures were made more intelligent using a found case of Borg Construct Aj^6 units (similar to Lobot's unit).

I also ran scenarios, on the junk planet, based on: "Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn", and "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone". My players never recognised any of these. Korad is an outstanding planet for post apocalyptic segways in the galaxy.

Treadwells, lots of them. They can hide easily and poke up their eyes to spy on people.

You could also park one at a Lagrange point (particularly L4 and L5); if the two bodies involved have a big enough mass disparity, it'd tend to collect objects anyway. (Like the Trojan asteroids in Jupiter's orbit.)

That's one thing i've never seen SW even care about.. Lagrange points.... Stargate mentioned it, as did trek (well discovery).

The dianogas probably breed like crazy on such a world/moon. Don't wanna go swimming there! Shocked

Big ones live on Korad in my game. They live in pools many layers down in the salvage. They are not even good for food as some have tried to eat them and got sick or died. Many a denizen has been grabbed and pulled down into the scrap in my game. Good times.

I have added other creatures/monsters to Korad under the auspices of what would survive in such conditions. For example I created a mobile invasive radiotropic fungus that has populated the junkyards going ship to ship sucking on radioactive waste. Similar to the oozes, slimes, and puddings of D&D. The creature was inspired by the "Elephant's Foot" inside of Chernobyl.
