I was wondering, after watching the Guardians of the Galaxy film, has anyone ever thought about trying to stat out those 'star' fighters, that had the funky interlocking shield grid system? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I haven't, but the thought I had was that those ships since we never actually see them in a space environment are speeder scale and when linked together like that gain shielding capabilities, the more you have, the greater the shield... _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

Sort of like combined fire chart, but no need to make a command roll. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

That would work in a pinch, not that I could see the Nova Corp doing this on a planetary scale, but against a capital ship...sure. _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

Would there be an upper limit? Or like in the GotG film, as long as there are ships that can link up, the shield can get stronger? Though as the film showed, when one blows, there is a catastrophic collapse of the shield causing all the rest to blow. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

That's a good question, like I said I could see them doing this on a capital scale and against those size ships...obviously Ronan is using 'Deathstar' scale weaponry to decimate plants...if you're looking for a die-cap or dice code for how high something like that could go, I'd say that would be up to the individual GM but it should be noted that the ships were holding back Ronan's ship and it wasn't the ship that broke the shielding, but Ronan... _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

Where are you getting that his ship was using death star weaponry? The only damage we saw to the ground was his fighters doing kamakazi runs into it? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I never said that, I said the Death Star Scale damage wasn't coming from the ship, but from Ronan who we are told is capable of wiping out the planet if he touches it... _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |
