Finze Bravis is a young man in his mid-20s. He was practically born into the Incom corporation on Fresia during the clone wars, and he grew up among the engineers who had designed vessels for the Republic. A savant in starfighter engine design, he was the one who proposed the X-Wing feature 4 engines, since he was never quite happy with the engine design of the Z-95 Headhunter. He is the primary designer of the 4L4 Fusial Engine. When the Incom Corporation was nationalized, he agreed with the senior designers of the X-Wing project that he didn't want his ship to become a weapon of terror for the Empire; complications arose, and he ended up leaving early with a production-level engine, superior to the prototypes already assembled on Fresia. He was smuggled out by a pair of Alliance agents, Janel Korsos and hun Caernok.

Janel was born on a low-tech world. It was one of the countless worlds subjected to Imperial 'peacemaking', an act that ravaged much of the world. She was at a monastery learning Teras Kasi when her homeland was subject to Imperial bombardment, which left the city irradiated. The monastery was quickly subjugated when Imperial troops showed up, and Janel learned that sometimes the best way to subvert the Empire was to feign submissiveness and pass under their noses when her master was killed. She left the planet, and joined a rebel group as a procurement specialist, where she met hun Caernok. They were both reassigned as undercover specialists when the Treaty of Corellia was signed.

hun Caernok is a covallon. His species has normally stood apart from galactic affairs, but Caernok was never known for his patience, a fact that ostracized him from the rest of his society. He decided to leave his homeworld and see the stars; it just so happened his transport off-world was soon attacked by Imperial-sanctioned slavers, who took him for an animal. He took beatings, but the slavers didn't put him in any extra bindings. The same ship was attacked by rebel elements, who were attracted by a signal Caernok had set up. After the ship was boarded, Caernok joined up, no more questions asked.

Cold-Blooded The reptilian Chistori are very sensitive to cold climates. If exposed to extreme cold without proper gear, a Chistori immediately suffers a -1D penalty to Perception when rolling initiative. Ten minutes of exposure causes a temporary reduction of -1 to all attributes. After 20 minutes of exposure, the individual must make a Difficult stamina roll. Success means the Chistori maintains consciousness and suffers no damage. If the roll fails, the Chistori suffers an additional -1 penalty to all attributes.Further exposure means another stamina roll every 10 minutes; the difficulty increases by +4 each time. If the Chistori’s Strength is reduced to zero, he dies. Once returned to a warm environment, a Chistori that has not already died will fully recover after 30 minutes.

Little is known about the hunter that is known as Vanndred. He prefers to keep to himself, taking low-profile bounties. He has a tendency to take physical goods instead of credits, which is how he obtained both his ship and his speeder bike, which he has heavily modified. Each bounty is a carefully weighed cost-benefit analysis for him. He does not hide the fact that he is a Chistori, but he relies on his species' relative obscurity to surprise acquisitions. He has broken up several Rebel cells in the past in his pursuit of bounties, leaving alive only those who did not have a price on their head and who didn't resist. This recent job was a potentially lucrative bounty on Finze Bravis by one of his former employers who sold out at Incom. Unfortunately, his employer does not know that Vanndred is Chistori, assuming it was a little-known planet. Vanndred has no love for the Empire, seeing it as the largest provider of a paycheck. He is not in it entirely for himself; a portion of his bounties are sent back to support his clan, which provided his initial gear. |
