In one of the technology books, and for the life of me I am having a time finding it, there is a for all intents and purposes a blending cloak...that is as about an accurate description of it as I can muster, now it might be the special forces book...but I can't remember...Help? _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

As in a cloak that gives camouflage bonus or a "cloaking" ability? I presume to give a stealth bonus to sneak rolls? _________________ __________________________________
Before we take any of this too seriously, just remember that in the middle episode a little rubber puppet moves a spaceship with his mind. |

Here's some of the candidate equipment I found based on your description.
In Rules of Engagement, there's the Camouflage Poncho (p 33) and the Camo Armor (p 34). There's also the Durashelter (p 39), which has a limited blending ability.
Gundark's Fantastic Technology: Personal Gear also has a Camo Armor (p 49), but what you might be thinking of is Camo Netting (p 106).
Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters again has a Camo Armor (p 87).
Though the camo armor seems to be a duplicate (a cursory glance suggests that the stats are pretty much the same), I think you might be looking for the Camo Netting (I think I've seen it in a different book as well). |

exactly. I used it in a game once, after seeing it in one of the books and couldn't figure out for the life of me why my players, who have a tendency to want to use the tech books like a JCP Christmas Catalog, hadn't been out shopping for that yet.
Maybe it was something I extrapolated or interpreted to work that way... _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

What you're describing sounds familiar, although I have no idea where I saw it.
I'll do some digging. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

Thanks Jmanski, it's bugging me and I know that I got it from an official source...LOL.
The one unofficial weapon I really do like to use, sparingly, is the gas grenade with lightsaber crystals defused in the gas, toss that into the room with your least favorite jedi character and watch as his activated saber ignites the crystals trapping him in the cloud...le sigh...LOL _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

I've been looking as well, are you talking about something character-sized for a character to wear, or something larger to, say, hide a starfighter?

I'm thinking that it had to be the Shadowcloak and I just ignored the racial limitations...
This is essentially the version I'm using in my current game. I'm sure that the version I used years and years ago was +4d
Shadowcloak
Model: Kelpeth environmental dissimulation shadowcloak.
Type: Camouflage cloak
Scale: Character
Cost: 5,000
Availability: 4, X
Game Notes: This device works best with snipers and was developed for the Empire so that Imperial Snipers could get close to targets. Sensors sewn into the fabric allows anyone who dons the cloak to alter its coloration, allowing the wearer to blend more easily into the surroundings (+1D+2 to sneak rolls), however this bonus drops to +2 should the character decide to move about). _________________ No matter where you go, there you are...
