I am interesting in playing in someone's live table-top Star Wars D6 game in the Columbus, Ohio area while I am preparing my next campaign to GM (and yes, this will be a live table-top campaign also).
Even if you don't currently have a group but might be interested in playing in my campaign when it's ready, please let me know.
Thanks! _________________ *

Were you still trying to get this together in Columbus? I live in Columbus and currently play in a Star Wars Saga Edition group here locally, now on our second Star Wars campaign, and I might have some interest in Star Wars d6 or you could check out our game. |

Wow that's cool. Nice to make your acquaintance. I am a bit curious about Star Wars d20 as I have the entire Saga line plus a lot of the older stuff but I have never played any WOTC Star Wars. But it is similar to the curiosity of looking at a bad car wreck because I did play in a few D&D 3.5 campaigns and generally hated it.
I might be interested in playing in one d20 adventure but not an ongoing campaign. Now that I have a wife and baby boy my progress on my D6 game is slowed down so it probably won't be for a while, but nice to know you are interested in D6 too. _________________ *

I am indeed from Ohio, born and raised. Since I first posted this thread in 2008, I have become a player in a Star Wars D6 campaign in Columbus, and my game (as GM) is in the holding pattern for the time being as my career is changing paths, my family is growing and other general life changes are occuring. It's probably going to be a couple more years. But I love hearing from my fellow Ohioan WEG Star Wars peeps! _________________ *

yup yup, I hear you on that - I was lucky to find players - now friends - in the general area. Because of it I can continue playing while being unemployed XD.
Our current is a little fast paced though and will probably burn out before too long as our GM this time is usually only a player and enjoys throwing overwhelming conflict our way a bit too much. |

Good luck on the employment situation.
AS GM, I just want a good story and fun for all. A few of my first WEG Star Wars campaigns ended in tragedy, but that was mostly because that is the directions the players took it. I don't think I was an evil GM. They were evil players. Yeah, that's the ticket. _________________ *

I can remember reading a review of SWRPG in Dragon Magazine and wanting to run out and get it right then and there. There was a blurb in the article about the game being on hold while something was sort of snafu was resolved and I called information and got the number for WEG and called to talk to someone about what was going on and when the game was coming out. I have no idea who it was I talked to, about a 5-10 minute conversation but they were reassuring and told me the game was already hitting the stores.
I got it and we played it a couple of times in high school, but I didn't truly run fall head over heels for the game until I started running it again in the early 90s with second edition (by that time I was in Georgia...)
Man...that was a LONG time ago...LOL

Yeah, I did sometimes enjoy Dragon Magazine in the 80s but I found out about the Star Wars RPG when it arrived for sale at the store I worked at in high school (primarily the largest retailer of magazines in central Ohio at the time, that also sold newspapers, comics, books, RPGs, tobacco, lottery, etc.). One day in the Fall of 1987 I showed up for work and the 1E RPG rule book and Sourcebook were there and I immediately snatched them up that day. Less than a year later I had become King of the Star Wars nerds in my high school and had players knocking down my door to get in my game. For a couple months I actually ran three different campaigns for three different player groups (with no players in more than one group) simultaneously. After I went off to college in the 90s a couple of my players became GMs themselves.
That seems like such a long time ago in a galaxy far away, but it was really 20-22 years ago and 27 km away. _________________ *
