Maybe I'm the only one who does this, but I will drop stuff into my game, weird tech stuff or things that probably shouldn't be there. Most time these items are in junk piles, some cargo hold the players have broken into or random (now broken items) that they have taken off of other people...
Here is a list of weird and random things taken out of a 'Imperial Confiscation hold...' My cousin 'Dude' (not his real name...) tends to get the references, I blame his spending having spent way to much time around me for that...
-1 metal ring (and stand) with strange runes-19 ft. in diameter.
-One oddly shaped domed droid with plunger and egg-beater attachment, non-functional.
-1 small odd cloth cover, black and white-seems to respond to emotion creating swirls of patterns on the cloth.
-1 black cloak, with enclosed hood and red eyeholes.
-1 oddly shaped yellow tool belt with various items enclosed in several pouches listed below:
-Syntha-rope and grappling hook launcher: 300 ft. range, has a pulley system to allow ascension/descending and can be hooked to the belt for load bearing purposes.
-Holorecording macrobinoculars with computer uplink capabilities.
-Full-faced Multi-purpose rebreather (allows for a 2 hour air supply in hostile environments, providing protection from toxins, breathing underwater or in harsh or oxygen less environments)
-30 flash-bang pellets (ball-bearing sized; 5 per use.)
-30 concussion pellets (standard stats. ball-bearing sized; 5 per use.)
-30 gas pellets (-3D to all rolls due to visibility factors. ball-bearing sized; 5 per use.)
-30 K.O. pellets -on a failed stamina roll (difficult) it causes 3 hours of unconsciousness and memory loss of the previous 5 minutes. (Ball-bearing sized; 5 per use.)
-30 Regurgitive pellets- on a failed stamina roll (difficult) it causes 20 minutes of violent illness. (Ball-bearing sized; 5 per use.)
-30 tear gas pellets- (Standard stats, ball-bearing sized; 5 per use.)
-Aerosol can of explosive foam with detonator (treat as 5 packs of detonite for game purposes)
-Universal tool-kit: Used to aid in electronics work. Tip contains various Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, wrenches, lock picking device, drill bits, and other implements. Inside the base are full lineman's kit, multiline analyzers, com frequencies analyzers, and other electrical analysis gear. Can record and play back audio and video signals. Tool can be safely used as a hammer.
-3 sets of magnacuffs
-12 oddly shaped foldable throwing weapons: Str+1D+2 (Max 5D), 1-3/15/25.
-6 Tracking devices, 5 mile range 1 month battery.
-Mini-computer: 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch in size. Operates as a standard personal computer in game terms. Equipped with holonet modem, UPS system, and minidisk rewritable drive. Can be used to remote-control vehicles with the proper configuration.
-Taser: 5D stun damage, 6 shots.
-Odd subsonic device: No discernable use.
- Keys, credits, lock picks, Med-kit, mini-comlink, antitoxin assortment, signal flares, wireless listening devices, small halogen glowrod.
-1 Canine shaped droid with a built in sensor pack, treads for ground movement (4) and a nonfunctional Gatling gun mounted in its proboscis. The droid is currently nonfunctional and in desperate need of repairs.
-6 seven inch long crystals. 5 of them are clear and 1 is emerald green in color. All without blemishes.
- 1 oddly shaped emerald-colored lamp, non-functional
-2 pairs of artificial wings, chest harness and control belts. 1 mace and 1 spear.
-1 Kirby-Tech WHIR Wagon (Prototype) -
Craft- Kirby-Tech WHIR Wagon (prototype) Type: Ground/Air vehicle speeder conversion.
Scale-Speeder Length-7 meters
Skill-Ground and Repulsorlift ops. Crew-1 (although 2 can coordinate)
Passengers: 6 comfortably, 8 in a pinch. Cargo Capacity: ˝ ton of cargo space in the trunk.
Cover- ˝ but the can be sealed to full. Altitude range: 60km (low orbital)
Cost: Not for sale Maneuverability: 2D+2
Move: 125; 375mph Body Strength: 4D+2
A ground vehicle of dubious origins, this vehicle has the distinction of being the only vehicle designed by the infamous Kirby-Tech design firm before the Empire shut them down. The WHIR Wagon has a built in conversion kit that allows it to become an Air-speeder (Repulsorlift op. Roll-Moderate) with the capability of a flight ceiling nearing 60km (or low-orbital) as the WHIR Wagon can be sealed against vacuums and water pressures (allowing for it to become a submersible as well…) Interestingly the WHIR Wagon appears to have been wired with an astromech personality matrix inspiring loyalty and the ability to respond to comlink related calls for help by coming to its owners aid. (6 mile range)
-2 pairs of Kirby-Tech repulsor pads:
A pair of cylindrical discs that lock onto the boots of wearer, Repulsorlift Ops. (Difficult) to use) They have a flight ceiling on 200 meters, speed of 200; 580 kmh and range of 600 kilometers before recharging (either through the patented ‘Kirby-Tech Krackle’ or 12 hour solar recharge) needs to be done. Maneuverability: 3D and Body Strength: 1D.
-1 Kirby-Tech Databox: seemingly useless computer component that does nothing more than ‘ping’.
-2 Quivers of arrows, one purple and one green, both with odd arrowhead attachments for various functions.
-1 Large (65x36) and well worn out pair of purple pants, irradiated.
-1 Belt with red belt-buckle light, camera, 3 oddly shaped tracking devices and 30 pressurized cartridges containing a liquid adhesive of unknown origin.
-1 Suit of chainmail, shield, bucket helm and black sword. (Matching set…)
-2 Winged equines (1 white, 1 black).
-1 gold ring with an odd rune on it.
-1 gold ring with a lightning bolt on it.
-18 perfectly formed gold rings that glow with an otherworldly light.
-Backpack containing 2 flasks of oil, shuttered lamp, 50 ft. of hemp rope, 2 wks. Preserved rations, bottle of sealed wine, bedroll and pillow (lice infested), 1 set of ceramic crockery, 1 set of thieves tools, silver holy symbol, a box of 6 quarrels and one regular dagger. Hidden in the pack is a baseball sized sapphire, several smaller jewels (uncut and unset…) and loose pocket change equaling 400 copper, 20 silver, 6 electrum, 20 gold and 5 pieces of platinum.
-1-15 ft multicolored scarf.
-1 Sonic screwdriver.
-1 Suit of black and crimson ‘bounty hunter’ armor with the following stats:
+2d vs. physical, +1d vs. energy no dex penalty. -1D to perception due to limited LOS
-Right forearm: The right arm has a retractable spring-loaded vibro-blade (standard damage) and a personal tear gas dispenser (same as grenade)
-left forearm: The left arm has a built in retractable garrote wire (Moderate brawling roll to hit, strength+1d (max of 5D) damage after 3 rounds the target must make a moderate stamina roll to stay on their feet with the difficulty increasing each round they don’t escape)
-Right hip pack: 4 detonite pouches, 4 flambomb gel packets.
-Left hip pack: 3 magnesium flairs, 3 incendiary caps to set off flambomb gel, 30 smoke pellets (5 per use), 30 ball bearings, 60 caltrops.
-Small of back: 2 magnetically attached escronga sticks (strength+1D (max of 6D) damage), small pouch holding an automatic slug thrower pistol with 2 clips of ammo. (Damage: 4D, Ammo-16, range 3-5/15/35) and a magnetically attached mini-hover board:
-Scale-Modified speeder -Length-1 meter
-Skill-Repulsorlift ops. -Crew-1
-Altitude Range: Ground level-200 meters -Cover-None
-Maneuverability: 3d -Move: 200; 580 kmh
-Body Strength: 1D _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

I have to say I DONT do this. It breaks immersion IMO. Its fun, but I like my gamers to really feel the universe is a serious place. _________________ http://swfallingstar.podbean.com

Yeah, I have to admit I view this the same way as aegisflashfire. While they're clever, I prefer to keep things feeling like Star Wars (though I suppose one could argue that things like E.T.'s race in the Senate are Easter Eggs the same way. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

In this order...
Stargate, a Dalek, Rorschach's mask, The Hood from the Black Hood Comics, The Batman Utility belt, K-9, The Kryptonian crystals from the Richard Donner Superman movies, a 'Green Lantern', Hawkman and Hawkwoman's accoutrements, A Whiz-Wagon from Jack Kirby's 'Forever People', A pair of Aero-discs from Jack Kirby's 'Mister Miracle' and a Motherbox too. The quivers from Hawkeye and Green Arrow respectively, a Pair of pants off of the Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man's utility belt from the comics, Black Knight's costume, sword and horses, I can't remember what the gold ring was, The one with the lightning bolt was the gimmick ring of the Flash, the 18 rings were the rings from the Lord of the Rings rings, the AD&D equipment came off of one of 'Dudes' character sheets, the Scarf is from Doctor Who as is the Sonic Screwdriver, but I put those in standard Starship repair kits long, long ago..., the Suit of hunter armor is from a character named 'Night Thrasher' from Marvel Comics 'New Warriors'
Now just to be clear, while I identified it for you and they even got some of it themselves at no point did anyone in the game call these items by name and I never had it identified as 'XXXXX' or whatever... as a matter of fact with the soul exception of the Utility belt's Detonite charge being used, the players took one look at the stuff and said 'What a pile of junk'... _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

That's awesome, Bobmalooga. From your list of fandom stuff, you've clearly got some pretty good taste! _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Thanks DougRed4, I remembered what the gold Ring was, it was a Legionaire Flight Ring from the Legion of Super Heroes and I also once had a Venom Symbiote (from the Marvel comics...) in a containment jar, the Jedi could sense the dark side coming off of it, but couldn't figure out what the heck it was...LOL _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |
