Hi , Bulk Cruisers have interested me but I find that the 1 model we really have ( the rebel bulk carrier cruiser ) to be insufficient . It reads to me that these could have had better weapons that were removed when turned into carriers perhaps ? If so what weapons would you suggest for them ?
Also Bulk Cruisers are meant to be common , from system navies and corporate security ships yet we only have the 1 ship . Has anyone came up with other Bulk Cruisers ? I think they would be big 300-600m ships , slow and with inferior weapons to modern imperial ships also prob older as well .
I always liked the rebel bulk carrier cruiser and thought it would make a great mobile base for a rebel campaign - a rebel team based on one as it travels around an imperial sector , trying to remain un-noticed and the players having to go on missions for spare parts as it breaks down once again lol . |

Yeah I knew of the Battle Horn and Neutron Star - WEG statted them the same , also the Quasar for me is just a carrier . I was looking for different Bulk Cruisers or differently modified versions of those 3 . On reading the wookiepedia it seems that the Battle Horn and Neutron Star have different armaments which is the kind of thing I am wanting - on it the Neutron Star is called a heavy bulk cruiser and has 24 turbolasers and 25 heavy laser cannons . This is the first time I have seen it with different stats from the Battle Horn . Would this be a modified ship ? Or the norm do people think ? |

The Neutron Star Wookieepedia page mentions both a cruiser and a carrier version, with the source for the cruiser being one of the new FFG adventures. D6 Holocron doesn't have stats for the cruiser version, but since the Bulk Cruiser was featured in the Rebellion game, I could work up some stats for the Cruiser version and post them there, if you like. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I never liked how both ships were statted the same and had the same picture plus for common ships for them all to be the same didnt fit right with me . |

Hi long time lurker first time poster. I recently made my own conversion of the Neutron Star based off the stats provided in the new Hired Gun sourcebook. I had to fudge some of the stats since FFG uses a very different system from WEG. I filled in most of the blanks based off the stats from WEG materials tho I gave a slightly larger cargo capacity which would've been lost when when the cruisers were converted into carriers.
Craft: Rendili StarDrive Neutron Star-class Bulk Cruiser

Welcome to the Forum.
This is interesting. I'm not really following the FFG system. What info does their stat give insofar as fire arcs and the hyperspace modifier? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Fire arcs cover about 90 degrees for any of the four directions (forward, starboard, port, aft), they differentiate dorsal and ventral for the turrets with dorsal unable to target under the ship/vehicle and ventral unable to target what over the ship/vehicle. Hyperdrives are pretty much the same as WEG and WotC, the book leaves actual travel times to the GM with a suggest chart on average times ranging from 10 to 24 for travel within a sector to up to three weeks for transgalactic travel (all with a x1 hyperdrive). |

What I meant was, is the weaponry fire arcs on your stat write-up based on their fire arcs? Same for the modifier. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Okay. When I made my stats, I just guessed. I'll probably change it to match yours, then, since your numbers are based off something official. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Did they give a reason for downgrading the hyperdrive? The version in the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook is x2, not x3. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
