Ive been reading up on my theoretical physics a bit. Specifically the use of gravity to warp space/time. Such as the old time acts funny around black holes.

Now these Interdictor type ships used gravity well projectors, and this forces ships out of hyperspace into real space. But i wonder if one of those ships could be utilised in a theoretical experiment, amping up the gravitational effect and distort spacetime enough to cause movement in the fourth dimension.

It occurs to me it could be like the old Philidelphia Experiment .

I want an antagonist and it seems an Imperial scientist in charge of an imperial Time travel experiment would ne interested in obtaining a newly arrived Time ship to help with his research.

Daniel here.

Doctor Who?

Seriously, though, I think it's a great idea. You wouldn't even have to use an Interdictor - you could make it just a science vessel.

I like to think, even with the Empites resources, this is a project that hasnt exactly been furnished with a lot of resources, so utilising and modifying pre- existing equipment, specifically a ship that already has gravity well projectors and a large power source. Stip out non essential gear, keep the crew to minimum, install extra power systems, sensor array etc.

Plus, a science vessel would not have the defenses theship would have.

Its a case of we will give you some resources, and IF you get results, we may develop something based on your findings.

Uh,not quite.

Myself and Aegisflasfire had a pages long debate. Essentially, he said I shouldnt use characters outside the SW rpg universe, whatvhe did suggest was create my own race of substitute Timelord, which I thought was ridiculous at the time, until Zarn created the
Gollyfree and the Gollyfreeians, who utilised TRASPADE time travel capsules.

Of course, I was delighted at the idea, and snapped it up immediatly.

Gollyfreeians utilised the Force to manipulate and look into time, until their final manipulations backfired and wiped them from existence in a Timewave. Thats why no one has heard of them. They never existed.

However, there are a few survivors who still travel in TRASPADES who were spared the effects of the Timewave, perhaps because they were in the Chronostream, therefore outside normal Space/ time.

Anyway, one of these characters calls himself' Professor' Damon Chance, who stole an ancient TRASPADE and now travels endlessly though time and space....

Or he would. His ship keeps breaking down...

While an interesting idea, I think it's specifically called a false mass generator or something, which implies that the mass isn't really there.

I've been wrong before, however....

In the X-Wing comic story Phantom Affair, there was a confluence of events that led to a malfunctioning gravitic weapon opening a wormhole and sucking a Dominator-Class Star Destroyer (gravity well equipped) and destroying it. IIRC, the weapon was mounted on one of the asteroids, not the star destroyer, but the fact that it was gravity based (as is the gravity well projector), some connection could be established with that as a basis. Swapping out the gravity well projectors with some form of cross-dimensional wormhole generating drive could be possible...

Im thinking if they interacted with something like dwarf star material or the theoretical Strange matter...Im talking gravity manipulation to bend space/ time on a massive scale which could be a useful asset to the Empire. If you could accelerate time within a confined area, you could , in theory, have five years worth of construction done in one. You could build a Death Star in very little relative time.

Well, stasis field technology does exist in the SWU, so time dilation technology could also exist, in theory...

Of course, the final end result that they want is time travel, and specifically to the past. Thats the tricky part.
