As an exercise [and it might have already been beaten to death on a previous thread I missed] how about we post other movies and the adventure idea/plot in the star wars universe.
I’ll start with a part of The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Most likely on Sriluur where the locals are always back and forth in civil war with the Houk settlers. Probably best with a small group of one or two characters.
The players have a bounty on them while out on some outer rim planet where LEO is in short supply. The bounty hunters that grab the players turn them over to LEO and then break them out not long after. The bounty goes up and repeat the process. The bounty hunters are letting the players starve and have them near death. They get distracted buy a speeder nearby that seems to have some Weequay on it. All but one of the Weequay is dead. The players don’t hear what happens between the bounty hunters and dieing Weequay but when they get there the Weequay tells them the name of the grave where the credit’s are buried. The bounty hunters come back with water and find that the players know which grave but not what cemetery. The bounty hunters know the cemetery but not the grave. They have to work together to get the cash.
Variations would be that the bad guys know where the safety deposit box is but not the access code. Instead of bounty hunters, the players are caught in battle by a tight squad of storm troopers. While in holding, a prisoner who was being interrogated get thrown back in the cell with the players and gives them the key bit of information that the storm troopers were trying to get so they can get rich quick.
Cheers

One of the best adventures I ever played was based on the movie Blackhawk Down. The Empire has some high-value target(s) that you need to go in and get. You can have some "under-cover" work ahead of time to gather some intel or you can hire some locals to gather it for you (or both). On the way in, the speeder that the PCs are using gets shot down and then that becomes another mission in itself to secure the crash site, etc. _________________ "Mind what you have learned. That is an idea I may have to steal. I love that book/movie and it would be ideal for my old group... if I can ever get them back together.
One of my favorite adventures that I ran for our group was based on the movie, "Tears of the Sun." The small spec forces team goes in to rescue a downed recon pilot and the native warlord tries to take them out. Along the way they get caught up in protecting some of the native population from the warlord's forces, all the while trying not to directly engage the much larger enemy forces. The team even got to call in some airstrikes in the last scene. The players said it was one of the most enjoyable missions they had played. |

I just ported Doctor Who: The Abominable Snowmen- an isolated monastery high in the mountains of Bothawi, ruthless droids- made to resemble a native encampment of Talz- glop grenades to simulate the rising sludge, and a great intelligence at the center of it all... but that may not be quite what you mean. _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

An obvious one is "Battle Beyond the Stars"/"Magnificent Seven" with a good rp group you can have alot of fun. I would prefer making it more ground based. This also allows you to use an rnemy other then the empire.
Keeping a western theme, "Silverado" would work as well. Some old friends turn out to be not so friendly. Gotta save the town or family.
"Force 10 From Navarone" is a favorite of mine. You have fake rebels, the Empire, the real rebels that don't trust you. An Imperial spy and no equipment other then blasters to start with. Perfect!! _________________ http://www.boomspeed.com/reaperden/ErcID.jpg |

That is, if you don't mind retreading the early Marvel comics run (see my footer) in order to do so... the first EU ever created essentially did the same thing! _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com
