Hello, I bought a copy of D6 Space a while back (which was stupid because I've since found that they can be downloaded in PDF format for free...)
The post-Star Wars license D6 book has expanded rules regarding special abilities, character disadvantages, cybernetics and so forth.
However many of the rule explanations are not as clear as the original SW rulebooks, and the starship combat rules are even worse.
I was wondering if anyone has integrated the Open D6 rules into their Star Wars games at all?
Anyone else have any input or opinions on the later D6 publications? _________________ "We attack under cover of daylight. Yes it's the last thing they'll be expecting, a daylight charge over the minefield." - Arnold Judas Rimmer, BSC SSC |

I've integrated the advantages/disadvantages... but that's about it...
I've limited my Open D6 to a D6 Adventures game my girlfriend is running for me currently. Tons of fun, but we're loose on those rules for the sake of story, which has both helped and screwed me many times. |

There are two Locations books (Adventure and Fantasy) that both have several locations you can easily integrate into a Space campaign.
As for integrating the D6 Space into my SW games, . . . not really, I downloaded all of the D6 books (Fantasy, Adventure, and Space) when I first found out about them a few months back. Since then, I've had time to look them over in detail, and I have to say, there wasnt much that I felt the need to adopt. Most of the time, I end up reworking the information quite a bit before it "Feels" like Star Wars to me. More recently, a couple of the "Locations" have found their way into my games as exotic locations, some of the "Creatures" have found their way into gaming sessions as rare or exotic monsters, a few things from the "Magic" book have been seen in my games in the form of Sith Sorcery & Alchemy, and some of the stuff in the "Ships" book make for good planetary devense forces and the such. In other words, its well worth taking a look at ALL of the D6 books, but you probably wont be integrating large ammounts of the materials into your games. |
