As the title says I have a picture that I ran across while browsing.
I found it on this topic.
Its the picture for the T-Wing Interceptor.
Now from looking up the ship itself - no pictures in the collection books or wiki's match this picture to the T-wing.
SO - this picture looks star wars, but what I am wondering is if anyone has seen it before and what ship it is in fact meant to be.
And, if it isn't a known ship, what ship do you all think closest represents what is seen in the photo?
I love the look of this vessel, and have decided to use it as the base for my character's ship. |

I believe that ship is concept art for the Jedi fighters we see in Episode III.
ZzaphodD asked about it here... _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

(1) Very fast, but not as maneuverable as some fighters (it looks too long with large powerful engines too close together to foster direction changes). It looks like a drag racer or a speed boat, designed to go very, very fast in the same direction. So something like speed 9-11 in a Rebellion Era frame of reference, i.e faster than an X-wing and probably at least as fast as a TIE fighter. But maneuverability of say 2D.
(2) Looks like it has quad weapons on the bent wing surfaces that project from the engine pods.
(3) The front looks like an elongated front to a Clone Wars BTL Y-wing or a Toscan 8-Q. Both those ships have 5D front firing laser cannons and are Clone Wars contemporaries.
Given (2) and (3) I'd probably go with a fire-linked forward firing laser cannon off the Y-wing and Quad linked light ion-cannons doing say 5D* for the bent wing mounted weapons. An alternative if an ion cannon doesn't fit the design goas would be to make the wing mounts autoblasters. In the latter case I would use the autoblasters from the B-wing, increasing the damage to 4D since there are twice as many of them.
* Generally I use a formula of each doubling of the number of weapons that are fire linked adds +1D damage so a single light ion cannons = 3D, two fire-linked = 4D, and four fire-linked = 5D. |

I like most of what Bren said. As far as stats, I would want to see some sort of background for the ship, insofar as what era it is from and what it is intended to do. It almost looks like it could be a precursor to the A-Wing... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Prefer this pic. Also the light armament matches the sleek design and focus on speed..

My suggestion would be to take aspects of the 3 ships that it seems to be based on from tet's link:
I would give it a space rating split between the x-wing (8) and the A-wing (12) giving us a nice even 10 space rating.
I'd give it the 4 linked laser cannons of the x-wing with same stats, perhaps drop the damage by 1D if you'd like to reflect the lighter/faster fighter.
I'd give it the light ion cannons from the Y-wing, straight over.
I would give it 3D maneuverability, since you have 2D for y, 3D for x, and 4D for a, 3D being middle ground.
Hull would be probably 3D or 3D+1, taking the difference between the x-wing and a-wing.
Then lastly I'd give it a weaker version of the a-wing's jammer system. -1D fire control instead of -2D.
Craft: Koensayr T-Wing Interceptor
Affiliation: New Republic
Era: New Republic
Source: Homebrew
Type: Space superiority fighter
Scale: Starfighter
Length: 11.05 meters
Skill: Starfighter piloting: T-Wing
Crew: 1 and astromech droid (can coordinate)
Cargo Capacity: 75 kilograms
Consumables: 1 week
Cost: 165,000 (new)
Hyperdrive Multiplier: x1
Nav Computer: No (uses astromech droid programmed
with 10 jumps)
Maneuverability: 3D
Space: 10
Atmosphere: 400; 1,200 kmh
Hull: 3D+1
Shields: 1D
Sensors:
Passive: 25/0D
Scan: 50/1D
Search: 75/2D
Focus: 3/4D
Weapons:
4 Laser Cannons (fire linked)
Fire Arc: Front
Skill: Starship gunnery
Fire Control: 3D
Space Range: 1-3/12/25
Atmosphere Range: 100-300/1.2/2.5 km
Damage: 6D
2 Light Ion Cannons (fire-linked)
Fire Arc: Front
Skill: Starship gunnery
Fire Control: 1D
Space Range: 1-3/7/36
Atmosphere Range: 100-300/700/3.6 km
Damage: 4D
Enemy Targeting Jammer
Fire Arc: All
Skill: Sensors
Space Range: 1-3/7/15
Atmosphere Range: 100-300/700/1.5 km
Damage: -1D from Fire Control
Anyway, just an idea for a suggestion. If you'd rather tune down the main 4 fire linked cannons, you could easily drop them to 5D. _________________ RR

It could potentially be a much cooler version of the Toscan 8-Q. There are some definite similarities.
EDIT: In fact, the disparity between the weaponry of the two models is also addressed in the Behind The Scenes section. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I also just noticed its similarities to Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator...
Well general design wise anyway. |
