I hope this makes sence, we wrote it up after talking about how in the New Jedi Order series the pilots all diald down their acceleration compensators to "Feel the G's", we felt it added some realism to dogfights.
Piloting with dialed down Acceleration Compensators, the pilot gains a slight advantage to his/her piloting check (Starfighter piloting, Spacetransports piloting) because they can feel the starfighters movement.
Common Acronyms
AC = Acceleration Compensators, PR = Piloting Roll, DN = Difficulty, Number,
MDN = Maneuver DN, SR = Stamina roll, SDN = Stamina DN,
AC Percentage (+) PR
100 % +0
99 % +1
98 % +2
97 % +3
96 % +4
95 % +5 Pilot must now make a stamina check after maneuver.
94 % +6
93 % +6
92 % +7 maximum bonus attained
How to figure out the Stamina difficulty.
Difficulty of Maneuver. MDN/2 then round down,Example: 30DN = 15,29 DN = 14.5 roundeddown to 14.
AC % and Stamina DN:95=+2, 94=+4,93=+8,92=+16
Exceptional PR bonus: PR - MDN = Bonus to SR
Total Stamina Difficulty: Maneuver Difficulty Number divided by 2 plus AC% minus any piloting bonus. Or in math terms [(MDN / 2)+AC%]-PR Bonus
Example: Red two is in a dogfight with a Tie Interceptor. The TIE fires at him. The TIE pilot rolls a 27 on his starship gunnery roll, a solid hit. Red two decides to dodge (doesn’t want to get shot), so he attempts a Starship Dodge (Starfighter Piloting). He rolls his piloting check and gets a 32, whew just made it! One problem, Red two was running his Acceleration Compensators at 95 %, now he must make a Stamina roll to keep from blacking out. Here’s the breakdown the Dodge DN is 27, 27/2 = 13. AC% is 95% which adds +1 to the DN, this brings it up to a Stamina DN of 14, But he rolled a 32 which is 5 over what he needed, giving him a bonus of 5 to the DN, so the final difficulty is 11.
Failed Stamina Checks.
Failed by Results
1 to 5 Blacks out for rest of round, must roll a piloting check to regain control.
6 to 10 Blacks out for one full round, must roll a piloting check to regain control.
11+ Blacks out for two full rounds, must roll a piloting check to regain control.
If this doesn't make sence just ask me and I'll try to explain better. _________________ Drive It like you stole it...
