I'm going to try my hand at converting VTM to D6 system... the biggest problem I'm having is with Vamp powers... hehe...
I know this is a little off topic for the forum... but at least I didn't post it in another thread
anyway, any ideas for the power situation? _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire. "

Oh man, don’t get me started on VTM, as a Mod on a VTM site I have MANY gripes about the system among other things.
But a conversion should be easy, they basicly have the same system, just with a diffrent dice. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

I just hated how the combat played out in VTM _________________ Tuco: "But if you miss you had better miss very well. Whoever double-crosses me and leaves me alive, he understands nothing about Tuco."

Well they do have a semi-valid rational for that.
That being that the game is not supposed to be a combat or action oriented game, which is reflected in the system. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

Since it was the first game I GMed and most of my players were first time players, it was a little complicated for every one back then (that was about 12 years ago) 8) _________________ Tuco: "But if you miss you had better miss very well. VTM complicated? I find that odd considering that when I introduce new people to RPG’s that is the system that I usually start with, considering the simplicity of it.
But then again I suppose that is understandable for first timers, by that token almost anything played can be a bit daunting to a first time gamer. I remember the first time I tried to wrap my head around Thac0. _________________ "My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself." - George Bernard Shaw |

anyway... the point is... I'm going to re-make it with D6, so that combat is hopefully smoother... I really don't like VTM's rolling style... all difficulties falling onto one die just doesn't seem right to me... (except for my D-20s and only for D&D) I'd rather see some difference, where heroic is nearly impossible to get in VTM (Rolling a 10 on a D10), It can be accomplished somewhat easier with 7 or more D in a skill and all the politics and such ruined the game IMO. So I'm going to create a slightly different setting, using the already established Vampire Clans... "The Masquerade" as they call it, is going to be more like an unspoken rule, that every vampire follows because making themselves over known will probably result in their downfall. The Disciplines I'm going to work somewhat like the Force and Martial Arts rules combined (you have 1-5D in the skill *normally* and you get a new ability each D you put into your discipline). And Vampire PCs will get extra attribute dice to show the base difference in attributes between a human and a vampire. _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Wait a minute...
I storytell for a Werewolf game, and the mechanics of the two White Wolf systems are, as one would imagine, extremely similar.
If Werewolf is a "hack-n-slash" game with the same mechanics, why wouldn't Vampire?
That would be like saying there are no politics in Werewolf... Preconceived notions the lot of them. _________________ "Let your anger be like a monkey in a pinata"
