Thought you guys might be interested in a very old tramp freighter I 'designed' several years ago. It's currently in use by my present day gaming group.
The model is a very basic kit-bash / scratch-build and after the info and pictures I have a competition for you!
Here are the ship's statistics:
Here is a deck plan:
(I realise the floor-recessed sleep booths have not come out in the scan - there are four, in the crew/passenger lounge area.)
And here is a picture of the ship flying through space!
The competition? Well, it is simple: Why is this ship called the 'Lynx'?

Because the single engine in the overhead design plan view looks like a Lynx's bobbed tail.
I like the stats. It's nice to see a ship design that isn't better than a stock Ghtroc or YT-1300. So the bridge is in the part that sticks out above the main deck, right? And the sleeping areas are in the lounge, right? That actually seems similar to some day sailer boats that I have been on. Not as much privacy as a YT-1300. Hopefully the trips are short or everyone gets along real well. Nice design. |

I like your guess, Bren, but it ain't the right answer.
A clue to the answer is here in my response to your comment 'nice design' - I like the design too, but I was kind of forced to make it that shape by the way the model ship was built.
And yeah, I did not bother to do a deck plan of the tiny bridge (two seats and the controls) which does indeed stick out above the main deck. The recessed sleep booths rise up out of the floor when the crew want to sleep.
Definitely a ship designed for short haul hyperspace jumps, or species who don't mind cramped and shared quarters. |

I take it then, that no-one either (a) has a guess, or (b) has looked at this? Should I just give the answer? |

Ok then, the answer ...
... the bottle has changed shape a bit since circa-1991 when the ship was modelled, but you get the idea. |
