Hello everyone. I finally joined this forum yesterday and am excited to be part with this community!
Does any know the officer rank system for the Empire or the other starwars factions? I have the Imperial Source Book with has the officer ranks pre-Yavin but would like more information or even pictures of rank insignias. I have a group of players who want to play as Imperials so a tool like this would be a good addition to the game.

This is a bit of a long article, however it should have everything for the empire, including some alternates in various EU.

For the Rebel Alliance:

Rules of Engagement has a basic overview of equivalent ranks between the various Star Wars military branches.
If you get stuck, just use modern military ranks. Army for army, Navy for navy, Air Force for star fighter units, and Marines for specialist groups like the Stormtrooper corps or the Rebel Space Marines.
