Am watching the 6th season of the CW show, the 100, and in this show, they have these chips containing someone's memory, that they effectively use to take a 'host' body over..
How would something like that work for a SW game?? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Opposed Willpower rolls, augmented by Control?
I'm not sure that a regular data drive could contain the memories and personality of a sentient being. Maybe some sort of 3D holomatrix like a droid brain? _________________ Aha! |

Would that willpower roll be to just resist the initial take over? OR keep getting rolled while taken over? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Depends. If you want it to be a one-shot, then a single opposed roll, but that's a big change hinging on a few dice. Better to have an initial roll to establish whether the hostile takeover can proceed, followed by a few more opposed rolls (with increasing penalties for the player if they fail) to establish full control. Then the player can RP it out and not feel railroaded. If they have a Force-sensitive pal, then that guy can probably lend a hand once the affected player knows what's going on. _________________ Aha! |

How would the force sensitive help out, once someone's taken over? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Using the Force gives one a deeper connection to the universe so they could channel some of that to help fight off the invader, but once the invader gains a foothold, they can probably tap into some of that too. _________________ Aha! |

Come again?? If the chip's taken over the mind fully, i can't see how a jedi's "Connection, with the universe" (what ever that means), would let him tap into it... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

The clone things, right? I assumed those were something built in at the cloning facility... not so much a separate personality, but something that would activate certain pre-existing parts of their brain. You couldn't take one and stick it in a non-clone brain to make them follow Order 66... it would only work on Clones.
As for how that would work, with your few who escaped it? I'd call it a complication in healing that otherwise went well. A story factor for the individual. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

He could use telepathy on the host's mind to help wake him up. Could use place another in hybernation trance (rendering the intruder unconscious) while mentally engaging the host's mind.
He could use Affect mind on the intruder to convince it to want to "leave" (or want to be installed in another body, etc.).
He could use Morichro to completely shut down the invading mind, allowing the host's mind to come back to the fore. |

Not the clones (as in clone troopers), but if you are watching the show, "The 100", you know what i am on about. Basically in there, (the current season), a group of humans who were out to find a new planet, use these memory chips, to copy who they are. And then if someone 'has the right blood', they can implant the chip into them, basically errasing who you WERE< to be taken over by who's on the chip. Sort of body jumping.. Or like in adnd, magic jarring.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
