After spending hours and hours thinking and working on my lightsaber,
and hazardchris helping me color it. I stated looking for ideas and inpiration.
This is what I found:
It is a steampunk version but I like the "old" feel to it.
Here is what I came up with.
What do you think? Please critique. I was thinking of maybe doing a copper
or brass color version. Originally, I had a hand guard on the lightsaber.
Should I add one?
Thanks for your input. _________________ Do or Do Not ...there is no try. -Yoda |

Here are my thoughts on what the guard might look like.

I'd make it a little longer, myself. Right now I'd say that the proportions are closer to that of a shoto.
Seems like your going for a more older, more refined, almost Victorian style of lightsaber. You might get some inspiration from the Lightfoils. |

Ok. Any ideas where to look besides Wookieepedia, SWAGonline, and Deviant art?
I also looked on the Lightsabers pdf. _________________ Do or Do Not ...there is no try. -Yoda |

I found it years ago. I forgot about it until you asked. |

The design looks good. I like that you incorporated the idea of the vacuum tube from the steampunk design. I agree that it should maybe be a bit longer... I'd probably just extend the main handle part a bit or the part adapted from the vacuum tube holder.
I've thought about designing a guarded or basket hilted lightsaber myself a couple times, but never really put it to paper. If you do choose to go with the hand guard, I wouldn't lengthen the saber, it'd get to look awkward. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

Yeah I think I am going to go with the guard I think it completes the look. Thank you all for
all of your wonderful ideas and input! _________________ Do or Do Not ...there is no try. -Yoda |
