|
|
Well, I know I said I would get to this about 2 weeks ago, but between a new baby, and finals at school I was unable to get around to it. But I found an hour to myself this morning and figured out what I thought they should be. So let the debate begin, and lets get these into Gry's updated Starship book down the line. Also with the Star Tours II ride launching in 2011, there will be a new, yet older model of Starspeeder known as the Starspeeder 1000. From the early concept photos it doesnt appear overly different, we will have to wait and see how it turns out. Anyway here is what I came up with
Starship: Manufactuer unknown
craft: Starspeeder 3000
type: passenger transport
scale: starfighter
length: 16 meters
skill: space transports: starspeeder 3000
crew: Rx pilot droid, astromech droid (navigator)
passengers: 40
cargo capacity: 300 kilograms
consumables: 1 week
cost: 120,000 new, 80,000 used
hyperdrive multiplier: x2
hyperdrive backup: x15
Nav computer: No, uses astromech droid
maneuverability: 1D
space: 7
atmosphere: 350, 1000 kmh
hull: 2D
shields: 1D
sensors:
passive: 10/0D
scan: 25/1D
search: 40/2D
focus: 2/3D
Weapons:
name: Laser Cannon
fire arc: Front- fire-linked
skill: starship gunnery
fire control: 1D
space range: 1-3/12/25
atmosphere range: 100-300/1.2/2.5 km
damage: 2D
So there you have it, at first I went with a much slower hyperdrive, but after doing some reading, the Star Tours company highly touted the speed of it's hyperdrive as some of the best in the galaxy. Sub light speed is quick enough to keep up with a starfighter, as witnessed during the ride, so I choose the slower Y-wing's speed of 7. Cargo capacity was tough, so I choose 300 kilograms to represent the passengers luggage. There doesnt appear to be a lot of space on the ship for cargo. 1 week of consumables for up to 40 life forms would take up a good amount of room as well. Anyway imput expected and wanted. _________________ So...you rolled 9, 6s on 3 dice. How convenient... Let me think about this, Umm Ok, you fail for cheating.

I'd still rather go with a x2 hyperdrive. It may be very fast, for civillian standards. During the Rebellion x1 is more of a military thing, or for people who are up to something. Other than that, everything looks great. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

This is pretty darn close to what I was envisioning. Yeah, we do need to back down the hyperdrive. Star Tours had talked it up, but they never talked numbers. That probably means that it was fast without being TOO fast. _________________ __________________________________

Ok sounds good, I have no problem with the x2, as that was my original thought on it. I will change it back to x2. Do you want a picture included Gry? or do you already have one? _________________ So...you rolled 9, 6s on 3 dice. How convenient... Let me think about this, Umm Ok, you fail for cheating.

Do you have any picture better than the ones on Wookieepedia? _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Heh... I guess the ones I took at Disney World don't really count as "better." _________________ __________________________________

let me look around a bit, I have a ton of Star Wars pictures that I have collected over the years, but I think the Wookiepedia ones will be the way to go. If i find something better I will post it, if not use the wookiepedia stuff.
@chesire I was thinking the same things, I have a bunch of pictures of the ride que (line). _________________ So...you rolled 9, 6s on 3 dice. How convenient... Let me think about this, Umm Ok, you fail for cheating.

That is a good pic. Where is that from?
We do have stats for the droid, though it isn't in the Droids book. It's juts recently been converted and not yet published. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I honestly don't remember, a few years ago before I went on hiatus from this game becasue of my move to Idaho, I collected hundreds of different pictures of Star Wars stuff off the web.
So the droids stats will come at a later time, that's cool _________________ So...you rolled 9, 6s on 3 dice. How convenient... Let me think about this, Umm Ok, you fail for cheating.

Actually... he's already been done. We've got him in Scum and Villainy. I think we've got him on page 14 of that book. He's a reprint in the Scavenger's Guide. _________________ __________________________________

So, this is the ship from some Disney ride? Would that explain the rather conservative design? _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |
