Hi guys.
I'm planning on running a 'Tramp freighter' Campaign.
The crew will own a single Space Transport and run drop point deliveries out of a floating 'renegade' space station.
The plan is to run a bit of a 'sandbox' campaign, so I need a lot of 'generic' material at hand to plan out the basics of each 'mission' and keep the story running smoothly on the fly.
I have found a bunch of stuff including all the obvious source books (Tramp freighters, Platt's Smugglers Guide official planet/galaxy guides etc.) but I'd like to throw to you guys for some links and suggestions for good resources.
Things I think would be useful are...
Mission/delivery/planet/NPC/Alien Generators and databases, house and official rules collections for starship repairs/deliveries/combat.
I'm also using WOTC minis with a 'battle mat' so I'd love to find some great (preferably inexpensive) Sci-Fi terrain- particularly lot's of great interior features like consoles/furniture/piping/walls/doors/tech/crates etc. and maps and or deck plans.
I'm also planning on using the XQ1 or 2 Space Station as the base, so any good deckplans, images or information would be great!
Thanks for any suggestions!

I would also suggest downloading all of Gry's stat books from the tools section _________________ The Vong have Arrived

I've got an NPC generator in my 4shared. I think it's under tool or programs. _________________ __________________________________
Before we take any of this too seriously, just remember that in the middle episode a little rubber puppet moves a spaceship with his mind. |

For a lot of nice RPG tools try Donjon's RPG Tools.

There are also several galaxy maps out there, just google search on "Star Wars Galaxy Map" and you'll get several hits. It's at least the relative positions of sectors & planets around the galaxy. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

i'm currently running a pirate campaign in a sandbox style and what i do is make simple D6 charts. need a quick bad guy? pick the 6 most common aliens in your system, the 6 most common weapons, then roll a couple D6s and you have a random bar patron for the group to fight. (i usually add more charts this was just for an example) in my game these fights are really easy. planned encounters make the players think and maybe spend a character point or two. unplanned encounters are for the pure joy of blasting someone. i also have random encounter charts for arriving in a system or walking down a street. these are meant more as "flavor text" encounters, that way you can stat things and half plan for things while remaining flexible. |
