Colorful and memorable NPCs

I need some NPCs for my campaign that are colorful, memorable and that has a twist that makes them unique.
Like this one:

“I had another idea for a failed Jedi character. He could be very old having been a Padawan during the clone wars and had his master killed in the Jedi Purge before he completed his training. He would also be out of shape, a smoker, drinker, and generally have a bad attitude. I’m not sure what his stats would be, but he doesn’t really have to be good at anything. He might light cigars with his lightsaber, crack rude jokes or just make snide comments and spend most of his time taking penalties for being heavily intoxicated.”

Amar is very old and was a young Padawan during the clone wars. He was traumatized by the Jedi purge where his master was killed before he could complete his training. Amar lost his faith and has struggled with depression ever since. He is out of shape, a smoker, drinker, and generally have a bad attitude. He lights cigars with his lightsaber, crack rude jokes and makes snide comments. He gets by doing small time cons and pick pocketing drunken spacers.
Maybe if the right sort of person came along Amar could be turned to the ways of the jedi again, but it would not be easy...
