After a super long break (life issue stuff) I'm back. I briefly checked out the new Saga version of the Wizard game and after buying 8 of the books (I got it at great prices so it wasn't like I spent alot) I've come to the realization that even though its the best IMO of the d20 stuff, that nothing can compare to the old WEG game esp. in the Star Wars RPG "feel" that I remember.
So now its time to get back into it and dust off the WEG books (of which I have just about all, need to track some of the others down on Noble Knight Games after the holidays).
My main question is how much conversion of the new Saga material is available? Also is it available in one download? |

OK. As regards Star Wars rpgs, I'm pretty much a grognard, it being my 2nd rpg ever, back in the early 90's. I know I have no interest in D20 rules, be it SAGA or any of the other iterations of (retch) WOTC Star Wars. Also, I have no interest in prequel era or EU stuff from NJO on. Can someone tell me if there is anything in the WOTC conversion stuff that I should bother with? I'm looking for specifics, mind you, not general concepts.
Just as an additional disclaimer, to let people know my reactions aren't kneejerk, I have finally found an iteration of D&D/D20 that I like, BECMI D&D, specifically the stuff in the Rules Cyclopedia. Granted, it's not particularly useful in a Star Wars context, but I figured I'd throw that out there, as I know I kinda have a rep here for being a hater when it comes to D&D derived systems. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |
