First of all, Anakin* sorry that was bothering me.
Okay. The force is very powerful, and there are many abilities that are unknown, or have been lost of the depths of time throughout it's history, it's not very hard to come up with the basics for a power, or to change a power to fit what you want.
But as for Anakin, his ability with machines is natural, not force influenced (except for maybe Podracing, but I think there is already a thread talking about that... ) _________________ "I believe the Jedi are weak so they give up their emotions. I'm sorry but that was bothering me. Ellipses, which are what the three periods together are called, is an interruption in a thought. Ellipses should only be used if you are interrupting one idea in mid thought. The correct way to write that was with a comma. |

Can you describe how this might be different than the Force Power, electronic manipulation?
It's described in the TOTJC, also on page 26 of Gry's Force Powers book. _________________ __________________________________

electronic manipulation allows the user to restore original function to an existing device, Mechu-deru appears to allow the construction and maybe design of new devices, it's limits are never fully explored. |

well, i cant remember the stats for the power i made up but it was something as follows
Sense Machinery (S)
Difficulty: Moderate (modified by stress)
May be kept up
effect: User can add their sense dice to repair rolls (blaster, droid etc). Jedi has an innate knowledge of how machinery works together
Telekenitic Repiar (A)
Pre req (Sense Machinery)
Difficulty: Moderate (modified by stress)
Upon successful telekentic repair roll, user may make a Repair roll without haveing to touch the part that is in question. Effects can range from simply moving things, or mending broken parts.
The Telekentic repair was a bit different, but i never really got to use that power before the game fuzzeled so i cant remember it that much. _________________ The Vong have Arrived

It has been a very long time since I read any of the novels (I stopped when the book license moved over, and they started NJO) but didn't Anakin Solo have an affinity for machines via the Force?
It always seemed a bit of contradiction that the Force is generated by living things, and yet a Jedi can sense where a rock, or a droid is via the Force and then lift it telekinetically.
The way I interpreted it, when someone builds and designs a machine/computer/droid, that person leave an imprint on it. Akin to psychometry ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychometry ), you can pick up that residual energy of the creator. Thusly you can tell intuitively how it should work and be able to fix it. That is how Anakin Solo fixed things via the Force.
Machines by themselves shouldn't talk in the Force explaining how they work.
So, if there was a hand-built machine, computer or droid, Anakin Solo (or someone with similar powers) should be able to pick up on the creator's imprint, but a factory built droid would be much tougher to read.
For players who wanted such abilities, I treated it as a separate Sense power. I didn't make Telekinetic Repair a new power. I just made it a TK roll, adjusted for not being able to see what you're working on, and adjusted for the size of the parts (really fine TK being more difficult). Just requiring a moderate Alter roll seems a little generous. _________________ Nihilism makes me smile. |

yea, thats what i based my powers on (anikin that is).
The way I picture it the machines dont, the force does. your just attuned to a more mechanical form of the force. _________________ The Vong have Arrived
