I'm attempting to make a map for a battle in one of my adventures, but I have no idea what program to use. I'm not very artistically talented, it's just going to be a rough thing. Also having grids would be nice. What programs do you guys use, and how? |

I take it you're looking for something a little more flashy and functional than MS Paint... although MS Paint usually works just fine for quick, rough sketches.
I don't think I've ever tried to draw maps on a computer. I usually do them by hand.
If I'm looking for something more than MS Paint, I've got my copy of Photoshop Elements 2.0. Depending on what I'm drawing, I also tend to use the drawing functionality in MS Office (especially Powerpoint), but I'm not sure that's the best option for something like maps (depending on whether your maps are of landscape or urban structures). _________________ "WHERE ARE THE CHEETOS?"

I've been using Gametable. It's designed to be used live as an internet map/game program, but I've been drawing my maps there and using screen caps to post them on my forum. It's based on a grid and very customizable with just a little use of a photo editor. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.
