We had a house rule that gave the Horansi (Gorvan, Kasa, Mashi and Treka) a bonus for their claws and teeth. We made the bonus identical to that of the claws (Strength+1D damage) and teeth (Strength+2D damage) of Togorians (considering they are similar large feline species). _________________ "Mind what you have learned. I like the idea about the claws and teeth.
As a Mashi Horansi, or rather as Miraj, I would fight in close quarters all the time. I would have tried biting if I could have done more damage. 8) _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

I would think that that makes a good deal more sense to thier physical reality, but It does kind of make Mashi a bit too good. (not that that's problem for me ) _________________ 'God gave you grace to purge this place

I just don't think I could do another species very well...
For example MOG would like players who choose to be Wookie to do the voice before you say it so people can understand it. It's stuff like that. |

I like all of the special abilities that the different species present. This makes characters much more varied and unique. A lot of species have story factors that affect how they should be played though. I think these should definitely be followed when someone makes a character. I'm not a big fan of the "well this species are usually pacifists, but my character is an exception" argument. Granted, there will always be rebels and loners in every species, but I think these story factors kinda balance out the special abilities that the species may have. _________________ "Mind what you have learned. i agree, if someone is going to be a verpine, be a techie, not some demolitions expert. any ideas on how do better enforce the species history? _________________ "Without the risk of failure, there is no hope of glory" |

Isn't demolitions a technical skill?
But those people who wish to play exceptions should be able to it would just mean that they would be considered 'other' and find it harder. Imagine a child genius taking the role of a teacher. Sure they may be able do the job and possibly even do it well, but try convincing the students. |

Our MOG is like that.
If you want to play a Wookie you have to be able to sound like one. If you want to play an astromech droid, be prepared to whistle and beep.
Right now one of the players is playing a Quarren he gargles when he speaks. In fact he is the reason we needed the protocal droid head originally, none of the other players could understand him till he'd repeated himself three times
All part of the fun of playing a non-human |
