Hi, according to the the rules, most handheld items and items in general have 2D (character scale strength). My question is can you increase the damage resistance like you would for say armor, ships, and vehicles like it has in the rulebooks under the various repair skills? |

I'd always thought that some things, particularly bludgening weapons should have a body strength of higher than 2D but I've never seen any rules concerning increasing it. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

there's no rule saying you can't increase an items strength value but if you do it should probably be relatively limited. maybe by not allowing the full 1D+1 increase? |

I've always allowed equipment to be modified by a maximum of +1D+2 in any combinaison of modifications.
i.e. Bill wants to modify his blaster to make it sturdy and powerful, a possible final modification would be:
+2 to damages, +1D to body
or +1 to body and +1D+1 to damages...
any combinaison would do.
other includes range, fire rate, fire control, etc.
For some piece of equipment, like a datapad, you may just be limited to modifying the body, then max would be +1D+2. |
