I was making a character last night, a bounty hunter and like I normally do, I sold off most of his starting equipment so that I could customize his equipment, but after exchanged my standard Heavy Blaster Pistol for a Calban Model X Heavy Blaster Pistol(5D+1 damage instead of 5D for the same 750), I had a total mind blank on what to spend the rest of my cash on. I can't even think of some sort of specialty item (that isn't too expensive) for me to use... cause at first i figured i'd use the extra afterwards to "cyber him up" but now i'm not really sure that's what I want to do...
I don't know if this is because my GM hasn't decided whether or not he's going to give me the full value of my sold equipment which totals something like 4925 or half value which ends up coming out like 3000 even (i sold a few extra things)
Anyway, any ideas for "Trademark Items"? _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire. "

Maybe customize his armor. I think Boba Fett's custom armor is definitely his trademark. Not only improve it's stats, but make it look distinctive. Eventually, when imps see you standing there in that armor, they will instantly recognize you and start getting verrrrrrry nervous... _________________ "Mind what you have learned. i was thinking on getting that eventually... i'm just not sure what armor i want to modify i definately want to get a helmet that kinda looks like Imp Royal Guard, but black with a red visor 8), and i was thinking about teaming that up with a suit of slightly beefed up Smasher Armor...
but if my GM decides to give me a dex penalty if i modify up it's protective value, I can't think of a way to get the defense that I want with the servos... so... i don't know exactly what i'm after _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. What's the "T6 Thunder"? I don't recognize that specific blaster model. |

After SoroSuub came up with their Renegade, advertised as the most powerful heavy blaster pistol on the market, BlasTech began a mission to beat that record.
What they came up with was the Thunderer.
Though extremely bulky and heavy, the Thunderer remains just under the size limit to still be considered a pistol.
When BlasTech proudly demonstrated the Thunderer for the first time, both Merr-Sonn and SoroSuub ceded the victory to Blastech, "King of the blaster wars."
Model : BlasTech T-6 Thunderer
Type : Heavy blaster pistol
Scale : Character
Skill : Blaster : Heavy blaster pistol
Ammo : 25
Cost : 750 (Power packs : 25)
Availability : 2.R or X
Fire rate : 1
Range : 3-7 / 25 / 50
Damage : 6D+2
If you wan a pic i will mail it to you |

Just to add two more superior weapons.
SoroSuub Bi-Polar Blaster Carbine
Model: SoroSuub Bi-Polar Blaster BMC-150
Type: Dual blaster carbine
Scale: Character
Skill: Blaster: Blaster carbine
Ammo: 50
Cost: 1,000, 100 (Ammo)
Availability: 4, R or X
Fire rate: 1
Range: 25-100/200/300
Damage: 4D (single shot), 6D (simultaneous bolts)
Game Notes: Use of bi-pod adds +1D to blaster roll.
SoroSuub Stormtrooper Two Blaster Carbine
Model: SoroSuub Stormtrooper Two Blaster Carbine
Type: Heavy blaster carbine
Scale: Character
Skill: Blaster: Blaster carbine
Ammo: 50
Cost: 2,400
Availability: 2, R or X
Fire rate: 1
Range: 3-20/40/200
Damage: 6D+2
Game Notes: Solely used by Radiation Zone Stormtroopers.
However, those aren't weapons - including the "Thunderer" - that a character should start with IMO. Those are very exclusive pieces of equipment. They should be given as a reward for outstanding actions. A character should work for getting his hands on them. Simply possessing them is boring - and is unbalancing the game.
Actually I don't like that "faster, stronger, better" mentality. Why not taking a simple BlasTech DL-18? It's a good weapon (Although I have to admit that my character does have a BMC-150. But that character has been played for years - and has hundreds of character points spent on her. She got that blaster during game play - and it really wasn't easy.).
What I'm trying to say. Don't spent to much time thinking about equipment - a character should be reknown for his abilities and actions, not for having the coolest stuff.
Cheers
Sven

This game never took off... the GM was a slacker... while it's true that no character should start with the biggest and the best... the system is pretty heavily based on who has good equipment... now there's no harm in being skilled... but even the most skilled people can hardly function if they have nothing to use... and when it comes down to a fight, a lot of the time, the person with the better equipment will be the victor, besides, when it comes to Character Creation, I'll stick to my good 'ol Calban Model-X same as DL-44 except for 5D+1 damage instead of 5D... _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic.
