We've retired the "Gods of the Universe" campaign tonight.
It's the campaign (Originally titled the "Far Orbit Campaign") where we got so disgustingly rich that we could do anything. And I mean ANYTHING!!!
But... When the guy in charge of the Janitor Droids (Who has been with us from the start) has over 3 Million Credits, you know it's time to call it a day, and shut it down.
We sold off the fleet (To a few folks that wanted to keep on as a Privateer/Mercenary group), settled old debts (The monitary kind, we don't let the other kind stay around for too long), and decided to do a Retirement Party.
We invited all the Far Orbit Alumni, invited every major NPC we've run across (Chewie, Han and Leia Solo showed up, Luke Sent his reguards), and hired the top two floors of a Hotel for three days to have a party.
Well... The damage was extensive (One room was connected to two other rooms. One next to it, and one beneith it!!! Also, they had a Fireman's pole set up to go down! Noone knows where they got it, but there was a Flagpole missing from the roof of the Hotel.).
Three days later, we start filing out... *VERY* Hung Over. (This is when we found out that the 2-1Bs don't know a Hangover Cure for Ewoks yet! None of the regular stuff works!!!).
A monument was built on Sluis Van for the Fleet (A nice, respectful one). And one on the Originator's Home World. This one was austentatious and over the top, a Park, with the Originator of the Far Orbit Fleet in a three-times sized marble statue as Zeus, and the rest of the Major Players as Life-Sized Statues (And, yes, Crunch is part of that!).
We never failed a mission. Although a few were close calls, we never failed...
And it's already been declaired that, when the Yuzzan Vong invaded, and the New Republic was dickering about it, the Far Orbit Fleet Members re-united once again, stole the Far Orbit (Which had been sold to the New Republic) once again, and went out and did what needed to be done... All on our own recognicence.
That won't be a campaign, but it is a good way to leave off the cast and crew of the Far Orbit Fleet. Going out the way they wanted to.
